Author has written 1 story for Twilight.

Forever on Team Jacob.

I really love the Twilight series. I like pretty much most of the characters, I think they all have their place in the story somewhere.Though I don't really care for the more random and disconnected characters that are featured in the last book. And the last book is where everything really fell apart for me.

Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse were pretty good. Breaking Dawn was such a let down for me in so many ways. The more time goes on, the more pissed off I get about how everything ended up.

There are plenty of things I disagreed with in the series, and I happen to think the girl who wrote that article (Feminism Doesn't Sparkle:What Twilight Teaches Young Girls) about why the Twilight books aren't a good example for young women has all entirely valid points. I don't know if Stephenie Meyer ever said she was trying to set an example, and not all books have to set a good example. Books are books for the entertainment and story, life isn't always perfect or full of good characters. Her criticism is well substantiated. SO yeah, I agree but I'm also not against a story with characters that don't provide a shining example of how to live - the world needs those too.

But one of her points is about how Edward frequently dictates the people Bella can be friends with. Not only that, but he also physically prevents her from seeing someone else because he doesn't agree with it. That is beyond controlling. I don't care what label of love you try to slap on that, it's wrong.

Edward is too controlling, period, and he's always telling Bella it's for her own good. I have a problem with that too. He's overly dramatic and theatrical at times, it's hard to take. My biggest problem is with him breaking up with Bella and abandoning her in the woods and then waltzing back into her life and resuming control over Bella again (which she lets him do). You can't just do that to a person, and I don't know what's wrong with her. That's why I will forever be on Team Jacob.

Jacob and Bella were meant to be together. He was strong, always the voice of reason trying to get her to understand she didn't have to give her life away for everything - and he was right. He could provide her with a beautiful future where she didn't have to give anything away - she stood only to gain and not to lose. She could have kept her friends, family, a normal life. She would be well loved and well cared for with every possibility for her future, and she would be ALIVE.

One more point made is that love is about healthy, equal relationships. Love is about equality, about partnerships, about trust. That's absolutely true, and true with Jacob's character. He believes in Bella making her own choices, giving her all the facts, and getting her to stand up for herself. Their relationship is a partnership. Edward and Bella's relationship, on the other hand, is not based on any of those things.

It makes me sad how strong their relationship was and the love that was there, how Jacob pieced together the mess that Edward left - and then how Stephenie Meyer so easily put his character aside and said that it was always about Edward. That, the extremely creepy way she had Jacob imprint on Renesmee, and the lame talk-out with the Volturi in the end really just killed things for me.

I have always felt that the series was never meant to end the way it did. And here I am, writing my own version of events and enjoying the way others have done it too.
