Hermione Granger spent the Horcrux hunt obsessively consulting a scrying mirror to watch visions of Draco Malfoy's past, present and future. Now, back at Hogwarts for her "8th year," she is determined to bring the broken, outcasted man closer to her, to make her visions become reality. Part II of The Divined Intelligence Series.

Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

Voldemort has won, or mostly, and Death Eaters don't have a retirement plan so Draco Malfoy is stuck serving a master he hates. He and Blaise Zabini just try to keep their heads down and not attract attention. They aren't heroes. Then Hermione Granger gets Snatched and they make the fateful, stupid decision to save her.
