![]() Author has written 1 story for Twilight. Penname: Seaside Precipice Age: 16 Gender: Female Notes: I don't like Twilight, I don't like Bella nor do I like Edward, though I admit when I was twelve, I did. Why don't I like them? It's a long reason, but let me just put this: she wrote for thirteen year old girls, and when I turned fourteen, I grew out of it. However, I do like the shapeshifters 'imprinting', but I don't feel she delved into it as deep as she should (but why would she? When she wrote in Bella's POV nearly the entire time.) Aspects I like about Twilight: Imprinting, werewolves, and the vampire wars in the south. I abhor first person writing. Many people may say that (especially in a romance) it works because it really gets into the persons head, but I don't. I believe its a cheap trick that, unless used really well, allows the writer to make a shallow character seem 'in depth'. It cuts away from what's happening around, and because its from one person's POV, its very narrow-minded - and it has to be, otherwise the character would REALLY not have personality. In 3rd person POV, you can convey you main characters emotions and thoughts, while at the same time even adding in other characters' and what's happening around the main character that the main character MAY NOT NOTICE. But, really, I suppose its the writers choice. Mine is 3rd. (Not to say I haven't tried 1st person, but after one story I wrote, I switched back into 3rd, and afterwards, every time I tried first, I would accidentally switch back into 3rd about half-way though a PAGE.) Also, I use the Queen's English, so if I spell colour with a 'u', (etc) get to it. About me: I am a total romantic, but as it stands, I get so tongue-tied around the guys I like they're usually turned off, so the dorks and the 'just friend' guys end up liking me. Then, when you give them a chance, they totally wimp out on you! Geez. In my opinion, a guy with confidence (and charisma) is the best guy you can get. (And humour, humour is a MUST). I'm going into grade twelve next year, and my university choices have me leave my country or go to the other side of it (much against my friend's wishes) |
