![]() Author has written 2 stories for Final Fantasy VII, and Dragon Age. CHAPTER 33: 10 Percent Had to change my pen name due to identity issues. My first book is in the works, I can't wait to tell you guys about it. :) Hey all, I'm a hardcore FFVII fan. I've been in love with the game since I played it all the way back in '97 and I just can't seem to get enough of it. I really only consider the original canon since Dirge of Cerberus blatantly ignored story continuity and Advent Children characters seemed out-of-character (not to mention Cloud's stupid phone got more screen time than anybody- its hard to take a commercial as canon). I didn't really enjoy Crisis Core's story, however, I do feel that they at least did Zack some justice. Last Order looked great but, again, basic story continuity was ignored. Now that that's out of the way, let me tell you about my approach: I've always been deeply fascinated by the relationships within Avalanche- how total strangers united by a similar goal would react to each other's misfit personalities. This being the case, it is a primary focus of my novelization. Onto the ships: I'm a rabid CloTi fan, but I hate it when people bash Aeris. Yuffitine gives me a stomach ache... to me, Yuffie's the kind of girl who could develop a crush on anyone and Vincent seems a little too tortured to be able to handle her- not that there can't be some fluff-ish moments between friends, right? Remember: opposites don't attract, complimentary personalities do. Other than that I'm fairly canon although I admit that I am intrigued by ReTi and VinTi... weird, I know. Cluffie is sort of awkward, but again, Yuffie probably crushes on all the guys to some extent. Zeris is all great to me; those two were meant to be together. Let me think, who am I missing? Nothing against yaoi, but I think that Cloud and Zack were probably great friends but I kind of don't think that it would be anything deeper than that. I don't have anything against Cid and Shera, but they've never wowed me as a couple. Finally some funfacts on how I veiw the game: Tifa is not a slut; she dressed that way to attract customers to her bar, besides Square had to make one of the characters a big-breasted fanboy-gasm, that's the mentality of Japan. Cloud has a really piss-poor self esteem, but I hesitate to call him "emo", AC Cloud seemed way too sullen. Vincent could totally be Seph's daddy... I mean, if he was sleeping with Lucrecia... but this probably won't make it into my novelization. In my writing, Aeris will not be Aerith because it was Aeris in the original game. I know that in Japanese they don't have the 'th' sound so phonetically, Aerith would be spelled a-e-ri-su (like Sephiroth would be se-fi-ro-su) so technically Aeris was a spelling error of Aerith but I prefer it the other way. Nyah. The same reasoning goes behind my spelling "Barret" and not "Barett". |
