He wants to follow Ethan Slaughter, this uncouth meathead from Gangs whose last three partners all died on the job under questionable circumstances, earning Slaughter the unfortunate nickname: "The Widowmaker."

'The glimpse of her face, her smile illuminating his screen, causes his chest to burn, consumed by fire that chars his heart. He loves her, but it's not enough. It's too much. And he can't take anymore.' An alternate end to season 4 that changes everything.

Set about two years into the future (hypothetical season 10), apperception is having a full understanding of an event because of the conditions that inspire it. A story roughly prompted by tumblr's one-writer-girl: "Beckett tries to win them back."

'Her body is buzzing with energy, pure adrenalin still racing through her veins, when Castle dumps her own handcuffs into the box of belongings she's currently holding, giving her a loaded look that she's too keyed up to decipher when she slowly drags her eyes up to meet his.'

In Beckett's 'Hierarchy of Needs' after coffee, food and shelter came justice then security. Fashionable boots definitely had a tier but falling head over heels in love did not. She wanted a relationship she could contain. Post-ep for Food to Die For. Now Complete.
