I don't believe in flames because they completely put people off writing, if pretty much any writer you admire listened to all of their "flames" or critics they wouldn't be where they are today, however if you give constructive criticism (that doesn't mean only point out flaws) you will improve someone's writing and encourage them, flames just discourage people and ruin their self confidence, think before you review!
