![]() Author has written 1 story for StarTrek: The Original Series, and Lost In Space. About the Author J.A. Carter—also known as “NorthStar”—is a retired USAF master sergeant. He has filled every imaginable job in the USAF vehicle world; mechanic, driver, aircraft loader, maintenance scheduler, and shop superintendent. During his time in the Air Force, he has visited multiple countries and most of the states in the US. In addition to his Air Force career, he has worked as an ASE certified mechanic at car dealerships in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His list of part time jobs have included pizza delivery driver, teacher, software consultant, desktop publishing author, database design guru, resumé builder, career development counselor, and foster parent (although foster parent really should be considered to be a full-time job). A life-long Star Trek fan, he has always wanted to write a Star Trek story. Home at Last is his first foray into the world of writing Star Trek fiction. He is old enough to have watched Star Trek and Lost in Space when they were both brand new. An avid reader, JA Carter prefers science fiction above all else and his favorite author is Robert A. Heinlein. He also enjoys building scale models of almost any type and scale. When not reading or building models he can be found in the shop working on his cars and trucks or puttering with his wood-working projects. JA Carter is married to the world’s prettiest red head and has two sons, a golden retriever (named “Scotty” for his favorite chief engineer), a Jack Russell Terrier (named “Tinkerbell” because Peter Pan had a big impact on his childhood), and a cat (named “Hera” because she’s the queen of the universe—just ask her; she’ll tell you) with more than 26 toes. His wife describes him as being the software and accounting guru behind her crafting business, although he prefers to describe it—and usually does—as having “married his ‘sugar mama’”, he does try to be helpful to her. This means that he pretty much stays out of her way. His absolute, number one, top-of-the-list favorite hobby—in a long list of hobbies—is pestering his pretty wife and making fun of the idiots he sees on TV. |
