![]() Author has written 14 stories for Twilight. AN EDWARD TO REMEMBER A Classic Hollywood Romance One Shot Contest! Bust out your DVD collection, rearrange your NetFlix queue, and program the DVR for the Turner Classic Movies channel. This is a contest for all you romantic fools out there who love old glamour, romance, banter, and long, steamy kisses. We want you to write your heart out, and to base your little story on a classic Hollywood movie. It can be inspired or a full-on crossover. THE FINE PRINT, PRINTED FINELY FOR YOUR PERUSAL. IN OTHER WORDS, THE FLIPPIN’ RULES. READ THEM! MUST BE BASED ON AN OLD HOLLYWOOD LOVE STORY You one-shot should be inspired by a reasonably recognizable, classic romantic movie MADE IN OR BEFORE 1965. Please mention the film you used in the A/N portion of your entry. We have a list of suggested flicks, but you're not limited to those alone. They're just there to give you some ideas. AU: ALL HUMAN ONLY MUST BE AN ExB PAIRING UPDATE! ExB not your thing? Check out the Eve Arden Awards, a smallish side-bet we have going on for non ExB couples. WORD LIMIT No less than 5K, not to exceed 15K. Yes, we’ll count. MUST BE MO’ BETTAH BETA’d We have girl hard-on's for typos. Please check your spelling and grammar and have someone read your entry for you. If it looks sloppy, we’ll send it back. Re-enter it again with mistakes and it’s QUACK, QUACK, NO TAKE BACK! IN THE SPIRIT OF CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD MOVIES Please, NO rape, cutting, slash, or anything else you’d never see in a film prior to 1965. The ONLY exception: LEMONS. TONS o’ LEMONS. Those are mandatory…in fact, that reminds us… MUST HAVE A LEMON Your entry should be rated M. Therefore, if you’re not old enough to read M-rated fic, you’re not old enough to enter this contest. ANONYMOUS We also have girl hard-ons for cheaters. Telling your goldfish which entry is yours gets you disqualified. DO NOT BREATHE A WORD. NOT EVEN ACCIDENTALLY. DEADLINES, WE HAVE THEM Entries must be submitted starting January 7th, 2010 and all entries must be submitted by January 30th, 2010 at MIDNIGHT, EST. EMAIL YOUR ENTRY TO THIS ADDRESS, AND THIS ADDRESS ALONE Send your entry to AnEdwardToRemember@gmail.com. It will be reviewed for basic grammar/spelling, then your name will be removed and your entry will be placed in our C1. THIS IS A DEMOCRACY, PEOPLE The contest will be open to a public, blind poll starting February 1st, 2010 that will end on February 7th, 2010 at MIDNIGHT, EST. The top three entries will then be chosen by a judges’ panel from among those entries that received the most popular votes. The number of entries chosen to be read by the panel will be determined according to the number of entries submitted. Judging will be based on three criteria: style/tone, lemony hotness, and grammar/punctuation. A point system will be used and the entries with the most points will be awarded first, second, and third place, respectively. WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED VALENTINE’S DAY, FEBRUARY 14th, 2010!
