Katsuki always stayed until 8:56 every night. It would seem odd, but to those who knew what had happened, it made sense. Izuku Midoriya jumped off the roof of his middle school at 6:15 PM on a Friday and was pronounced dead at 8:56 just a week later, his broken body losing the battle against its injuries. "Deku… the Master is wanting to speak with you."

Izuku's Quirk manifest at the tender age of five. It's strange that he would have a fire Quirk given what his mother's Quirk is, but he chalks it up to genetics on his father's side. A week later, there's a (familiar) stranger in the kitchen, and everything changes.

Before there were Quirks, there were Dying Will Flames. But in the birth of a society where everyone had a superpower, the Will needed to reach for the inner Flame was lost. Until, that is, a boy is born without a Quirk, but with the desire to be a hero and the Will to succeed no matter the risk.
