Love? What strange magic is this word? What can a word know about such things as love? And how, did I end up feeling so absurd? Me, sprawled on the floor, your twinkling eyes shining above. Yes, I think that was the start, That quick and painless tumble, That landed me in your heart, And leaving me with a mess that I fumbled. But you laughed a quick laugh, Gave my your hand, I became whole, you were the missing half. And there, our love began. I’ve always been a reader, able to curl up with a book and a blanket and not move for hours, determined to finish whatever story I was reading, determined to learn all that I could about the world my mind visited. I’ve always read other people’s works, and I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that hundreds of other people read the same words that I was at that moment. But now, it’s time for me to evolve, I will always read of course, but now I’m going to give writing a shot. |
