Author has written 1 story for Phantom of the Opera. Words & Music I often write stories revolving around voice and song. Something about the emotional effect of music and the intuitive effect of the written word have always gotten my creative juices flowing. That said, a lot of my subject matter revolves around the Phantom of the Opera. I use four versions of Phantom when writing, kind of like a combined effort. Gaston LeRoux's original 'La Fantome De'la Opera', Andrew Lloyd Webbers "glittering musical" of the same title, Susan Kay's "Phantom" and the koppit ver. of Phantom, with Charles Dance as the title character; "The Phantom of the Opera." When I consider the Phantom of the Opera, I've always considered his physical makeup to be something like Michael Crawford originally depicted him, especially when considering his voice. His voice has to be soft and sensual, light and wispy, but full of control and even malice. He is, seemingly more human than any of us. When I consider his personality, I'm reminded of a very deep, almost spiritual nature. An extreme love for animals, and a huge capacity for compassion and love. He has a great sense of humor - a very dark one - but he's funny, nonetheless. Talented, mysterious, dark, loving, and for all that, hated. He's only a Phantom because we make him one. Other Information In real life, I'm a musician and artist, and student. I run a business as a professional dog trainer, and in my spare time do a lot of "fine art" (and not-so-fine art.) I have a lot of dogs, and 3 horses. I can play Piano and Guitar, but am much more experienced on the Piano. I've always loved writing, and have been trying for years to find time to write my own book. And yes, I can play all of the Phantom of the Opera songs on the piano - from the Overture, to "Track Down this Murderer." Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to leave reviews. |
