This is a one shot based on what it could have been if Bella and Carlisle had mated instead of Bella and Edward. It starts by explaining from the beginning of each persons story and goes up through to Bella's almost accident with Tyler Crowely's van at school that lands her at the hospital when she first meets Carlisle.
