Well, let's just say something that makes Klaroline a very real possibility.

Complete. To get anywhere, you have to go somewhere. Caroline snuck out of Mystic Falls to take a leap of blind faith into the big, bad world—and she succeeded. Yet Klaus was never really far behind. Thus began a relationship as complicated, consuming, and emotionally fraught as it ever was. AU after Tyler left Mystic Falls, no Hayley (EVER).

"Emotions ran high, inhibitions ran low. Then, in a moment of weakness, the thick sexual tension became something much more real." Caroline has the best of both worlds - an epic love and really, REALLY great sex. The problem is, they're from two different hybrids. How long will it be until she gets caught in her lie? Or worse, how long can she keep denying her growing feelings?

Canon through Season 4, then breaks off. After a horrible experience destroys Caroline, Stefan places a call to Klaus in the hopes that he can compel the memories from her. When Klaus arrives he finds Caroline more broken then he could have ever imagined. Can a 1,000 year old hybrid, who views love as a weakness, open up enough to try and heal the only woman he ever tried to love?

He took her as hostage because he needed leverage over her best friend, but nothing ever goes as planned when the baby vampire is everything but predictable and afraid of him. It's a road trip that Klaus will never forget. Au/Meme
