Dwarves are not accepted in the Shire, with one notable exception-the dwarf who was pulled from the river as a young child with no memory and a toy bow and raised by Bilbo Baggins. When 12 dwarves arrive at Bag End, his world is turned upside down, and he is forced to chose who he truly is, the nephew of a king or the son of a hobbit. In his heart, he will always be Kili Baggins.

"He'd only just gotten her home two years prior. She needed to relax, to settle... not bring back memories of hanging upon every glorious word of that wizard's tales or think of adventures! At least, Bilbo sincerely hoped that was what she needed, because if it wasn't he had no idea what he was doing..."

Five years after the reclaiming of Erebor, some members of the Company are finding it difficult to adjust to their new lives in the great dwarven city. With their new-found wealth and status as heroes amongst dwarvenkind, life should be easy -and it is, but to Bifur, Bofur, and Ori, the neighboring city of Dale looks to be so much more fun. Bofur/Oc, Bifur/oc, Dwalin/Ori.

All of the dwarves survive the Battle of the Five Armies, but Bilbo must return to the Shire to sort out his old life and make way for a new one in Erebor. Over one year later, Bilbo comes back to the Lonely Mountain with a recently orphaned Frodo. King Thorin isn't quite sure what to make of this new, tiny addition to his Company. Slow build, Company and character focused.
