"I have had a message from the lady Nienna," the High King said to them all. "The Valar have come to a decision about the case of the House of Fëanor. " The last story in the Return to Aman series which tells of Maglor's return with Elrond.

Elrond finds Maglor again, four hundred years after the fall of Beleriand, and they exchange news. There is mention of the deaths of Elros and Maedhros in this, but neither is described in detail. [Return to Aman story 1]

Sauron is destroyed, and it is less than a year before the Ringbearers are to leave Middle-Earth. The Gray Havens have become relatively quiet. But is it really? Distraught after their mother sets sail Elrohir and Elladan seek revenge hunting orcs refusing to return home. Their hunt for vengeance leads them far into Mirkwood, where with one of them injured they take refuge in Thranduil's halls, and meet a lonely elfling, Legolas.

After apparently taking a wrong turn in a mysterious forest, something happens to Legolas. Aragorn doesn't know what's wrong or what to do, so he takes the elf to his father in Rivendell, but Elrond has no answers, either.

When someone from the past resurfaces and threatens Rivendell and its inhabitants, can Elrond with the help of Legolas protect his sons and especially Aragorn from falling victim to his plans? Or will they all get caught in a blaze of revenge and pain?
