Artorias Nym of Team Gwyn is a third year student at Shade Academy. Life's had its ups and downs, sure - but he's on track for a good career as a Huntsman. But when the secrets of Remnant begin to surface at the 40th Vytal Festival, he gets dragged down with them.

It was over. The Flame was extinguished, putting an end to the endless cycle of death and rebirth. But as the Firekeeper said, "One day, tiny flames will dance across the darkness. Like embers, linked by lords past." With a final sigh, the Ashen One stood and sank his blade into the ground, forever her watcher as darkness settled. "Ashen One, hearest thou my voice, still?"

From the ashes of Gwyn's age came a new one, the age of Darkness. The Chosen Undead had become the Dark Lord to bring the cycle of the curse to an end. He built a kingdom from the ashes and new soul arts were discovered along with hexes. The Dark Lord would use these new arts to craft a path through space and time to find a new home for his kingdom. That new home would be Remnant.

On a mission in the Emerald Forest, Team RWBY finds an oddly pristine coffin after a battle with the Grimm reveals its burial site. Meanwhile, Team JNPR discovers a mound of ashes with a strangely engraved tombstone in the Forever Fall. It is time Remnant learns the history of its forgotten age. (RWBY/Bloodborne/Dark Souls)

After facing the horrors of The Hunt and defeating the last nightmare the Hunter wakes up in a world alien to himself yet not completely dissimilar to his own. Thus starting The Hunt anew against the creatures of Grimm. Team RWBY is sent on a mission to locate and evaluate the possible threat of Remnant's new hunter whose taken up residence in the Emerald forest.
