I'm the kind of person who absolutely loves the idea of creating hypothetical characters and inserting them into interesting scenarios. I've always been fascinated by the human mind and the behaviour that manifests as a result of its intricacies. So, naturally, I've begun to study Psychology in University with an emphasis on Psychopathology (the study of disorders) On the side, I've been concocting this complex story diving into the fundamentals of humanity and what truly defines it from a behavioural perspective. I consider this project important, with the potential of it being my finest work, my Magnum Opus if you will, constantly shadowing me. With this pressure comes the need to ensure that it will live up to my own lofty expectations, thus I come here in order to hone my writing talent. Normally I don't like this kind of thing, treading on previously settled ground (I'm not Christopher Columbus) and just putting previously existing characters into a different setting. That's why I'm not doing that. I'm going to be exploring a new aspect of a pre-existing universe and introducing new characters who I've come to find utterly delicious to flesh out. No, I won't be staging any Sherlock-Doctor Who cross-overs or anything of that sort any time soon, but I will be creating something interesting within a world that may be familiar, only with vastly different characters and my own lore. |
