OOC Snape, since he's kind to Harry, and a bit OOC Harry, he's a lot more mature in this story than he is in the books. This fic is very sappy and emotional, by the way.

A what-if oneshot: In the scene in RotK where Pippin held the palantir, what if Legolas had grabbed it out of his hands instead of Aragorn? Hurt/comfort and some light angst, as well as a good heaping of Aragorn and Legolas friendship and bromance. I just can't get enough of it.

Now during the Quest of the Ring, Aragorn runs into a Ranger that he knows and finally finds his long lost friend. There is a problem: his best friend doesn't remember anything.

"Legolas! Wake up! Legolas!" Legolas didn't respond. His eyes had not moved. He was dead.

Upon the battlefield of Dale, Thranduil seeks desperately for some sign of his beloved son. But with every step he takes, the Elvenking finds his hope fading. He pleads to the Valar for Legolas' safe return, and vows vengeance upon any who might have taken his precious Greenleaf's life.

After clashing with Thranduil, Aragorn leaves Mirkwood in haste forcing an already injured Legolas to go after him. Will they make it back together? Or will Thranduil lose all hope of ever seeing his son alive again…
