I started writing fan fiction in 2006 and wrote steadily for about two years until deciding to take a break to concentrate on writing original fiction. While working on the first draft of my urban fantasy novel, I realized that I had learned so much about writing since my first fanfic and decided to edit my old stories to see how I could improve them.
