About Me

So! Welcome to my profile, people. My name is Sturmvoraus, and I'm a 'murican. My real name is not to be disclosed, so call me that. I live in the Midwestern USA, and I'm not saying anymore.

[Likes/Dislikes]

Likes: JROTC, Reading, Videogames, hunting, fishing, swimming, visiting family, climbing trees (There's a reason my nickname was "Monkey")

Dislikes: Moving to new places. (The losing friends part.) Bullies. (So much hate.) The terms "swag" and "yolo" (How did that BS even start? No ideas here.)

JROTC

The JROTC, or Junior Reserve Officer Training Course, was founded in 1916, as part of the National Defense Act, and is an optional course at High Schools all over the USA. Students are grouped into LET levels based on the year of Highschool they are in at the time. Freshmen, LET I. Sophomores, LET II. Juniors, LET III. Seniors, LET IV. There are also subdivisions of the JROTC units at high schools, like Drill Team, the people who spin the rifles and look generally badass. Color Guard, they normally carry the national flag and state flags in parades and ceremonies. There's also Cadet Choirs, and Raider platoons. Raiders are the Green Berets of the JROTC unit. Extra Physical Training, PT, and long distance running. Spec ops stuff. If you're a Raider, you're seen as basically a poster child for the JROTC organization. Drill team also gets to practice with 1:1 Replicas of the Springfield M1903 Rifle, which was the standard rifle for the US Military at the time the JROTC was founded. These people are the men and women who go on to guard things like the White House, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, and other national monuments. If you take JROTC for 3-4 years in High school, and then ROTC in college, you get to proceed to a higher rank if you choose the US Military as a career. If you do, I'm right there with ya.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy is, in many ways, almost a master of snark and wit. Best narrator award goes to his series. Plus, I like the view on Greek Mythology. Zeus wearing a pinstripe suit, Poseidon wearing Bermuda shorts, and Ares being a biker. Funniest thing I've seen.

Harry Potter

Modern. Wizards. Need I say more? Plus, most extensive canon universe award goes to the series. "19 years later". self. explanitory. It's cool that Jo started it by writing in a coffee shop in Piccadilly.

Monster Hunters International

This sets a Morbid/Hilarious view on monster hunting. Zombies, Vampires, armored zombie bears, the list goes on and on. Plus, there's guns. So many guns, it makes the NRA look like a pack of gun nuts convening in a basement. All of you know how holy symbols hurt Vampires (e.g. Crosses, a Star of David, even a Buddha shaped carving) if you believe in them? Well, take a bored, mental gun nut/inventor and some 12 gauge deer slug sized Dreidels, and the vampires suddenly have a basketball sized hole in them. So much dakka, R. Lee Ermey would be ecstatic if he got his hands on even a bit of it.

-Authors you should look up on FFn-

Emblah01: I consider her "Annabeth goes to Goode" fics to fill in the blanks between TLO-Lost Hero, and post House of Hades. Plus, she's just a funny author, y'know?

greenconverses: I think she gets the things she writes from the secret deleted scenes that authors dream of.

HecateA: Holy crap, this person writes good stuff. Some of it's non canon, of course, but who gives a damn? It's just that good!

Joining the Marines, y'all. It's been fun.

The gang as high school teachers. Or, Annabeth teaches history, Percy wears sweater vests, and everyone thinks they're dating.
