![]() “I passionately hate the idea of being with it; I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time.” "We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. “If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.” -Orson Wells ~~~ -_-'... :D Hi. I don't know you. And hey, you don't know me. But we have something in common. See that down the bottom there? Yeah that. We have that in common. “You mean, you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?” -Princess Bride “Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government!” “Oh Lord please don't burn us don't kill or toast your flock Don't put us on the barbecue or simmer us in stock, Don't bake or baste or boil us or stir-fry us in a wok” “Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help! I'm being repressed!” “I think that all good, right thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that all good, right thinking people in this country are fed up with being told that all good, right thinking people in this country are fed up with being sick and tired. I'm certainly not, and I'm sick and tired of being told that I am” “He's not pining, he's passed on. This parrot is no more. He has ceased to be. He's expired and gone to meet his maker. He's a stiff, bereft of life, he rests in peace. If you hadn't have nailed him to the perch he'd be pushing up the daisies. He's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-parrot!” -Monty Python “The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be” -Marcel Pagnol “The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned.” -William Somerset Maugham “A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it.” -Oscar Wilde “You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it... But even God cannot change the Truth.” -Michael Levy “I love you, and because I love you, I would sooner have you hate me for telling you the truth than adore me for telling you lies.” -Pietro Aretino “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” -Howard Thurman COMPLETE RANDOMNESS - courtesy of 'bloodizmyheroine' The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. Parents spend the first part of our lives teaching us to walk and talk, and the rest of it telling us to sit down and shut up. I stay as confused as a gangster with a skateboard. Life isn't passing me by; it's trying to run me over. My knight in shining armor turned out to be a loser in aluminum foil. Some minds are like concrete, thoroughly mixed and permanently set. Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died. All things considered, insanity may be the only reasonable alternative. Amateurs built the ark, professionals built the Titanic ... maybe we should have amateurs build everything. If the sky is the limit, then what is space? Over the limit? Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink what comes out"? Who was the first person to say, "See that chicken over there ... I'm going to eat the first thing that comes out of its butt"? If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? Why is it when we talk to God we are praying, but when God talks to us we are crazy? Assassinations are an extreme form of censorship. If everything seems to be going well, you obviously overlooked something. I was gifted, but the psychiatrist took away my powers. When life gives you lemons, make grape juice. Then sit back and watch the world wonder how you did it. The one bonus of not lifting the ban on gays in the military is that the next time the government mandates a draft we can all declare homosexuality instead of running off to Canada. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else. Why is it that people are fine with everyone having a different job or going to a different school, but if you say you follow a different religion, you are weird? If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side. If homosexuality is a disease, let's all call in queer to work: "Hello, can't work today, still queer." Bisexuality immediately doubles your chances for a date on Saturday night. If Michelangelo had been straight, the Sistine Chapel would have been wallpapered. |
