Hello. I've been reading around here for a while, but I've officially decided to join by posting a story and a couple of shorts.

Please take this as a warning: I have always been a terrible finisher of stories! But, I refuse to define myself by my past behaviors. So, while I'm not actually promising to finish this one, I'm going to try really hard. That's actually the reason I'm posting my story, "Troubled Youth" (terrible title, I know.) I'm hoping that I will feel a stronger sense of obligation to actually finish, if I'm writing for an audience larger than just myself.

If anybody has encouragement, or advice, or constructive criticism, I will be happy to hear it! Anybody who can help me with my writing process is an angel in disguise.

Reviews and PMs are wonderful things, and it seems to me that they create a sense of togetherness, a feeling that a website is more than the sum of it's pages. So I invite you to leave your words with me. I've also made it a point to participate in the community more regularly by letting people know when I like their work. So if you receive a review from me, please, pay it forward! And let some other amazing person know that their efforts are appreciated.

Update: August 2015. I apologise for not posting new chapters; my hard drive failed and I haven't had a computer for a month! (Luckily, I posted all the latest work before this happened.) Now I'm going abroad for 6 weeks and I highly doubt I'll be writing during that time. So, I'll resume writing in the fall. See you all then!

Update: October 2015. In the light of realism, I've decided that the scope of 'Troubled Youth' is far too ambitious. I'm going to keep my promise to finish it by paring it down to a manageable size and turning it into a medium short story. I may have to make big changes to the beginning in order to accomplish this, so if I go back and reload chapters, that's why.
