My name is Kyle Mason. If you already knew that, I'm going to assume you've read my story and saw the first few lines and not that you're some kind of creep. I am the author of Shattered Realities, a Mass Effect story that spans the space-time continuum. Imagine two universes, bleeding together under the weight of a war that would see life in the galaxy rendered extinct. If you actually can comprehend that, I applaud you. Because I have no idea what that means, only that it sounds cool as hell.

Basically, you've got our world. Earth, 2018. We get blasted back to the stone age by the Reapers. Bummer, right? Alex Strauss and Michael Shen are two survivors of this war, but they are given an opportunity to change the outcome. Now, they battle their way through another universe under siege by the Reapers to create an army capable of retaking their own home. Turns out, that's a lot harder than it sounds. And it sounds pretty hard.

Characters of Shattered Realities:

Alexander Strauss: One of two main characters in Shattered Realities, Alex is plagued by the events of the Seven Hours War that left mankind on the precipice of extinction. Formerly an engineer under the newly created private aerospace corporation, Bright Horizons, Alex once dreamed of being a part of sending mankind hurtling through space. Now, whenever he looks up at the night sky, he sees only the ashes of his people. Alex is very paranoid, unwilling to trust the Oracle. The only one he places his trust in is his best friend, Michael Shen.

Michael Shen: Known simply as Shen to those familiar with him, Michael was once a devoted pastor at his local church. He has the unique ability of detecting indoctrinated people - whether it is something genetic or divine, that remains to be seen. He used this power to keep the Hollow safe from alien agents, earning him the title of Inquisitor. Despite everything that has happened, Shen remains dedicated to his faith, knowing that one day mankind will achieve salvation. In the meantime, Father Michael continues to carry out God's work - one bullet at a time.

The Oracle: As mysterious as his name, the Oracle appeared one day in the Hollow right before everything went to hell. He claims to know the future but backs these claims up with very little explanation. He's arrogant, deceptive, and bad ass - the makings of a trans-dimensional deity. With his knowledge, he aims to end the Reaper's grip on the galaxy - all of them - and ensure that civilization is able to flourish without fear of extinction.

Note: Yes, I have the plot planned out for sixstories. The thought put into the SR Universe has been a long time coming with several revisions and backtracking. I also have some other ideas in the works for a prologue that details the Seven Hours War, but that isn't final. For those of you who enjoy my work, you'll find this news positive.
