Author has written 2 stories for Bleach, Harry Potter, and Beauty and the Beast. I hate writing profiles. I mean, how does one sum up an identity in a manageable amount of text, make it interesting, not give too much away, and maintain a persona? Seriously, think about it! That being said, hi! I'm Katie-hime. Yes, I just called myself a princess, and yes, I kind of am. Not literally, though. Here are the basics about me: I'm a 28 year-old female; I am a teacher, specializing in music, although I have also taught as a French Immersion generalist; I speak English and French, and am learning Japanese; and I am a nerd. A nerd, you say? Why, yes! I blame my Trekkie mom, and my husband for getting me started on anime! Oh, and four years of university studying music with like-minded nerds and a token physicist. Yes, we had a token physicist. Rather than boring you with a list of things I've read and seen, I'll just throw a few of my favourites out there for you. I love everything and anything to do with superheroes, especially Superman. My all-time favourite manga/anime is Bleach. I love Diana Gabaldon's books, along with Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series (Santa Olivia was amazing, too :D); I cannot live without books, and feel that these are some of the best. I don't have cable tv, but do keep up with Outlander, The Flash, Arrow and iZombie. I won't get into movies, suffice it to say that I enjoy anything that isn't horror (especially if it's a superhero movie!). As for writing, I'm working on it. I've never written fanfic before; I've only worked with my own material. I've got some ideas that I'm toying with right now, so hopefully something will be posted soon! UPDATE (February 2016): IT'S ALIVE! Hey, I'm back! Not that I really went anywhere, I just ran out of writing steam for a while. But now, energy relocated! Yay! That being said, no promises on regular updates for Academy. I'll do my best, but RL is busy, as always. Every time someone reviews/faves/follows gives me a kick in the pants, though, so if you want more, you know what to do! March 2017: So I've been struggling with my mental health for a while now. It's been a shit show of a school year; I've only got a 24% teaching contract, and thus, 24% pay (which, incidentally, means no benefits, you have to be at 60% for that), so I have to sub, but because I teach band, all the extras that take hours upon hours upon hours outside of class? Yeah, those don't go away, or even drop to "24%". All this has led to a very tired, very unstable me, and not a lot of energy to write. I've been staring at a blank document for the next chapter of Academy since December. It's not dead, and I'm not on hiatus, I just don't know when I'll have the next chapter out. All that said, application rounds for next year are coming up soon; send me good vibes and wish me a full time contract for next year! |
