One year after the Battle of Crait and the Resistance are slowly rebuilding their numbers on a new planet. Hoping for a chance to create a community free of the reformed New Order, General Leia Organa sends Rey to negotiate a peace treaty with Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. The two confront each other over past transgressions and are surprised by the new feelings that grow between them.

The Solo family discovers a feral child named Rey in the desert. She's aggressive and has very poor social skills which annoys her adoptive brother Ben to no end. The two grow apart until a tragedy brings the family back together. But between dogged research scientists and certain figures from Rey's past who are intent on ensuring she never remembers it, the future isn't clear.

After the Throne Room battle, Ben whisks Rey away on a galactic quest to discover the meaning of their connection, forsaking both the First Order and the Resistance. They must work together to find out what the Force wants from them, as they gradually begin to learn about each other and the true nature of balance.

Set directly after the Battle of Crait, post TLJ. Rey and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo finally speak to one another again via force connection. They begin to understand one another by looking into their respective past psychological abuse. They slowly realize they want the same thing. Balance. Slow burn. You know what will come eventually.
