Nick Fury has a decision to make when it comes to Loki. He's not happy about it but he would consider recruiting Loki into SHIELD if Loki would just stop acting like a crazy, suicidal super villain.

With his brother banished, his 'friends' plotting his demise, and his life falling apart all around him, Loki favors an alternative course of action to rid Asgard of at least one monster. Or: where problems actually get dealt with rather than just tossed down an intergalactic void.
