![]() Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter, W.I.T.C.H., and Gravity Falls. Introduction: Thanks for taking the time to Read and Review my stories! Here is my profile (obviously). In it you can find out all you ever wanted to know about me... sort of. Enjoy! News and Updates: Sweater Town is all done, and so am I. While it's not impossible I'll return to fan fiction, I am finished with it for the time being. Thanks everyone for reading! About the Author: Gender: Male Age: [Insert number here] Current Location: At my computer, obviously Status: Can't complain, no one will listen. Occupation: I don't know, something about browsing the internet all day? Writing Style: My preferred style of writing is a series of stories. Ideas rarely end with the end and often never start at the beginning. I generally choose a novel length story format (as opposed to poem, script or comic) and I like following a single character in 3rd person. Sometimes, when a scene or chapter break occurs I will explore the story from another characters perspective, but never more than one characters view per scene. I dislike writing 1st person myself, but I have found some very good stories written in this style. I try to stay as true to the universe and characters as I can (I don't care for or write slash, though I'm not above reading or writing lemons, or including fan service) and never write about something that I have very little understanding of (I have to be a FAN to write fan fiction, that seems obvious, but some people seem to ignore that part). While I often like to add my own characters I try and keep the focus of my stories in the universes they were made for. However, a little creative deviation never hurts, so long as it's believable. I almost never write FF stories that have only the original cast but I NEVER write stories that are solely focused on only characters I've created. I try and stay away from writing myself into any of the roles (I'm pretty boring anyhow). My favorite characters to write are females and children, since, I am neither. I find the experience challenging as I cannot draw directly from myself to do it. It is very rewarding when I connect with a character to the level that I can hear their voice in my head as I write them. Okay that sounded a little crazy... but I never said I wasn't crazy! I like to act out, or more as the case may be, talk to myself, for many of the scenes I write. My best ideas come to me while I am in the shower, so, I take long showers. Its like a freking magic booth of ideas for me. Whenever I am stuck, a shower always seemed to get my story flowing again, as it were. As of late I have moved to writing my FanFiction in smaller parts. This lets me give more attention to each part of the story and I can spend more time with the text, instead of working on pages and pages of proofing. I also hold myself to very strict deadlines. When I start a story I layout the time table along which the entire story will be published. Sometimes there are late additions to add along the way, but I pried myself on always posting new chapters on time. Most chapters will receive at lot of time and care, but I am only one person and I can't find everything (but please let me know if you do)! Each time go through it I add a little more to the chapter, either by reworking things that seemed like a good idea at the time, removing things that didn't work as I had hoped, or elaborating on something I just glanced over the first time. Writing is not about just writing, its about reading your own work and editing it, making it better. I never write something and then immediately post it there is always a long period of time between what I write initially and what I post, often months (in a couple cases years). Even when my stories are 'done' I feel they are never finished and there is always more I could add, change or have done better. But if I didn't stop working on them they really never would be done or get posted. Lastly, I'm dyslexic (thank you auto correct for fixing that word for me). I've spent years combating my difficulties with words and numbers. I'm a programmer by trade and a writer by need. Stories and images flow through my mind in a way that letters and words simply can not. I've all but lost the ability to hand write and the only way I can create stories is through sheer memorization of key strokes. I think it, my hands do it. If I misspell something, I delete the words and attempt it again, I do not correct it, often cannot correct it (except with auto correct!). Reading is an interesting challenge for me, the details I won't go into. But the solution is simple, audio. Audio books and text to speech have both become my ideal way to experience creative works. I much prefer it to stumbling through a story. Favorite Things Favorite Writing Styles (to read): Honestly, I am not much of a reader, something has to be really, really good to get me to read it. Grammar and spelling errors are a huge turn off for me, but I definitely understand the occasional mistake. Poor descriptions, unbelievable plot lines, contrived events and stories filled with a cast of OC's that I couldn't care less about are also something I don't like. I do like action stories as well has heavy well developed character driven plots. I'm not much for romance stories as they are usually not as believable. 'Pairing' and 'shipping' stories are just not my bag, but I'll read them if I know the author and I like other works they have done. Favorite Writing Activities: I love commenting on other peoples work, although not always reading it. I have endless advice to give... regardless of if its welcome or not... My favorite way to experience a story is by audio, most of the stories I 'read' I actually listen to using a text to speech program (Natural Reader). Its pretty good most of the time. But if I find a really good story I'll often read it aloud to myself instead, it makes reading in public a tad awkward. Favorite Non Writing Activities: Gaming (board, card (MTG!), video (Chrono Trigger, FF7, FF6, Legend of Zelda and KH!)), hanging out with friends, hiking, volley ball, sky diving and jujitsu/greko-roman wrestling (doing not watching). Favorite Animated Shows: (in no particular order): Simpson's, Futurama, South Park, W.i.t.c.h, Reboot, Beast Wars, Batman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Gargoyles, Evangelion: Neon Genesis, Cowboy Beebop, RahXephon, Ninja Scroll (movie), OutlawStar, Digimon (season 1 and 2), Sonic the Hedgehog (the good one), Talespin, Teen Titans, Ghost in the Shell (movies and series), the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Avatar: the Last Airbender (not that POS movie shamalamalan put out, fuk him), Gravity Falls, Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Steven Universe, Star Wars Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Adventure Time, Rick and Morty. Favorite Non Animated Shows: Firefly, Stargate SG-1 (I'm a RDA fan, what can I say, I watched it for him), Stargate Atlantes (I don't have an excuse for this one), Stargate Universe (your time came too soon!), Farscape, Smallville (before it got lame), Doctor Who (old and new, not so much the new new one, no one is as good as David Teniet), Battlestar Galatica (new (Really just the first episode the rest was so-so)) and crazy amounts of youtube, mostly science stuff. Favorite Movies: Not as many as you might think, I'm really a TV series kind of person. Although I own a crazy amount of DVDs and Blu-Rays. |
