![]() Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter, and Twilight. Most of the time I'm friendly. Sarcastic. Quite odd at times. A little bit bohemian. Sleepy. But no worries, I don't bite (unless Jasper changes me at last xD) "I’m almost never serious, and I’m always too serious. Too deep, too shallow. Too sensitive, too cold hearted. I’m like a collection of paradoxes." - Ferdinand von Schrubentauffrt I've lurked around here for years now and sometimes I'm thinking that this site helped me to improve my English far better than my eccentric teacher. I'm begging you- please point out the awful mistakes! Also, the sentence structure might be a bit bizarre (or maybe just "too Estonian"). Some of you have asked about my username, Udumuhv. It's kind of hard to describe to those who are not fluent in my mother language but... Well, Udu means fog and Muhv is one of our children's books characters (somewhat weird little guy who lives inside a hand-muff). There's also a slight reference to the Russian cartoon "Hedgehog in the fog". So the direct translation would similar to "A Muhv (muff) of the fog". I admit it's a bit random. The very first time I heard it was the day (oh so many years ago) when my tyrannous chemistry teacher was in a good mood (first time in her life) and instead her usual yelling that I don't pay enough attention (honestly, even if I had been my nose against the blackboard, it still wouldn't be enough for her), she announced that I'm a Udumuhv because I was lost in my thoughts again (or as she called it- in an endless black hole). I love reading and literature in general (also I'm a bit grammar-nazi)... I'm planning to study philology next year...we'll see. It's easy to write HP fanfics because Rowling created such a fantastic world, full of different characters and possibilities (and maybe it helps that I was a kind of Potterholic years ago). Despite my dislike of Twilight books (just can't stand original Bella and Eddie-boy), I love that world and surprisingly the new Breaking Dawn movie also. Go figure. Oh I can't describe how much I enjoy spending time on this page. A little too much, I'm afraid xD It's just the perfect place to relax and forget your everyday worries for a while. Of course, it's the perfect place to forgot about your sleep as well. *sighs* Good-bye, beauty sleep. Over the years of lurking here, I have formed pretty firm opinions what exactly I want to read. Don't take this in a wrong way, I'm still quite openminded to ALL well-written stories. These are just my personal preferences:) Most of the time I read only fanfics with OC-s. Cross that, I read all the time stories with OC-s. Actually, I just discovered that the only female canon character I tolerate is Hermione as a central character. Usually I like to read one theme for a couple of weeks, then I grow tired and switch. When I first found this page I was a huge potterholic so naturally it was the only thing that drew my attention. But right now...My interests vary between Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribbean, Lord of the Rings, Twilight, Narnian stories, Criminal Minds. Bones, CSI: New York etc. It's an endless circle and list xD Harry Potter: From Marauders era- Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, but not together. Tom Riddle Jr, before his noseless world conquest. Not angsty or overly depressed Harry (I like him with Hermione actually). Not too slutty or nerdy Hermione (and NEVER with Ron!). Weasley twins. One of the best stories was about Peeves' and Hermione's love (luckily, Peeves was an handsome young man there in the end). The weirdest...about Trevor...or the Sorting Hat. There are many strange stories here :D PotC: I really, really, really dislike Elizabeth, just can't help it. I think that James was lucky to not end up with her. As you might guess, naturally my favourite character is Norrington :D Groves seems interesting too, but sadly he doesn't get enough attention. And Jack is always fun to read. LotR: Hehe, my current obsession and this list grows every day. Haldir. Boromir. Faramir. Halbarad. Legolas. I'll give you a giant cookie if you'll find me a good AragornxOC to read. Arwen is nice but for a change I want just Elessar xD I like reasonable Mary Sues here and there and some of the best stories I've seen are about "some girl falling into Middle Earth." So don't be so judgmental. One does not simply hate LotR. Twilight: Let's make this clear. Half of the world loves those series and the other half hates them passionately. There are some lucky ones as well, who live either under the rock or simply are isolated enough and therefore don't know about Meyer's creation. Personally, I would really love Twilight if someone would erase Bella's, Edward's and Jacob's existence. Ew. They act just so...wrong. (Please, you are free to disagree, just don't throw any rotten vegetables at me.) At least I have Jasper, Paul, James and Carlisle to drool over xD Prince Caspian from Narnia and Reid from Criminal Minds. I honestly believe that OC-s are the solution for everything xD It's hard for me to tolerate: (But I'll try my best, because after all - writers have rights to do absolutely everything with their own stories) *when character description is too one-sided (for example- Rosalie isn't just heartless bitch and Tom Riddle isn't corrupted with evil since birth) *when author struggles with all costs with NOT turning their character into Mary Sue. Sometimes the outcome is so forced that sweet Mary Sue would have been much more fitting. Harry/Ginny Hermione/Ron (Ron does have the emotional range of a teaspoon after all) Jasper/Alice (It's possible that it's just pure jealousy xD) I decided to not take my stories down before I'm updating/ revising them. Just for my humiliation and motivation. I'm bubbling with new ideas- Let's just hope that I miraculously have enough time soon. PS:There's something really wrong with some of my fanfics. There are some words missing etc and I can't fix it for some reason:/ The sorting hat says... (The result is different every single time I'm doing that test but for some reason I've never been in Slytherin...yet) ...Ravenclaw! (Ravenclaw 72 Hufflepuff 62 Slytherin 59 Gryffindor 51) Feel free to write me;) |
