Author has written 1 story for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Hunger Games.

Salve.

I live in the US, and admire the discontinued language of Latin; in my stories, do not be surprised if I decide to use Latin names. I am also quite obsessive over certain things. In my free time, I study, read, dance, draw, eat brownies, play piano, and for a leisure activity, I write. In school, my favorite subject is math; I placed second place in a math competition early this year and am a tutor in math club. Either fortunately - if you despise reading a full biography - or unfortunately, that is all I am willing to tell you about my personal life.

I am thirteen, so I'm still struggling to find my own writing style and improving. I'm sorry if you don't like my style or my stories, but that's simply a matter of opinion.

My username, mortiferum aestus means the deadly tide in Latin.

Favorite Books of Mine:

Harry Potter - the entire series

Percy Jackson and the Olympians - the entire series

The Lost Hero - the series still currently in progress

The Hunger Games - the entire series

The Inheritance Cycle - the entire series

Now moving on to the more scholarly side of myself...

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Macbeth by Shakespeare

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Anne Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

The Castle by Franz Kafka

Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

I could probably ramble on about how much I enjoy classical literature, but I'm sure you don't want to hear about that.

Ships I Sail :

Percy/Annabeth

Percy/Calypso

Harry/Hermione

Draco/Hermione

Luna/Neville

Jason/Reyna

Percy/Reyna

Katniss/Peeta

Katniss/Cato

Eragon/Arya

And for crossover fiction...

Percy/Hermione

Annabeth/Draco

Percy/Katniss

Peeta/Annabeth

I'm certainly not going to write stories about all these pairings... well, perhaps if I have enough time.

How to be a good writer:

This is obviously in my opinion, not something that you have to believe.

1.) Find your own style. Don't try to copy another author's writing technique just because it appeals to you. The very reason their writing is good is because they find their own strengths through writing that way and it comes naturally to them. I myself like to write detailed writing, in which one will describe much more than other styles allow. Of course, other styles have their own advantages. Do not be vague.

2.) Don't, despite what the general opinion is, use a thesaurus. Sure, if your word choice is too general, it is a prudent choice to utilize it. However, beware of using it too much. I once made the same mistake - it could just be human nature - and earned a relatively average score on an assessment because of it. Well, you learn from your mistakes.

3.) Proofread. This should be obvious. It makes you a more respectable author to the reader, and avoiding mistakes in grammar and spelling does make your writing easier to comprehend.

4.) Use different types of sentences, not just ones beginning with 'the' or 'it'. Also, use different lengths of sentences - remember, a short sentence once in a while doesn't make your writing choppy and a long sentence doesn't make it seem like you're trying to squish too much information into too little words.

5. ) Try to make your chapters longer. It doesn't matter how busy you are, if you're planning on writing a short, measly update, then don't. Work on it for a while and then update your story. A good story is better than one that simply is updated fast.

6. ) Practice thinking beforehand. How do you want your story to go? Do you have any ideas of what might happen later? This has always been a challenge for me.

7. ) Use writing techniques; that's why you go to school, yes? To learn skills that might help you in the future. Foreshadowing, cliffhangers, dramatic visualization, flashbacks, hyperboles, etc.

8. ) These are also writing techniques, but you have no idea how much they improve your writing. Use similes and metaphors. It really helps the reader connect to other things and visualize your story.

Eh, that's all for now. In the future, however, I may post small "sneak peeks" of next chapters in my story here.

Vale.
