Following each of the main six, this story focuses on major issues and dark secrets that the characters have from emotional trauma in their pasts. They each put on a façade, trying to look perfect to everyone else, but are actually pretty messed-up inside. Can they ever heal from and overcome their pasts?

It was perfect, Princess Celestia was dating her immortal student Twilight, and nopony else would ever have her. Tempest, finally free of her guilt, arrives at Ponyville to learn more about friendship. Tempest fell in love with Twilight, and Twilight realizes that she's been missing out on the feeling of true love. Princess Celestia isn't okay with this turn of events, not at all.

With Sylvia plotting the resistance on the secret planet, Wander makes one final attempt to befriend Lord Dominator. Unfortunately for him, the bored villain has other plans.

Quite suddenly and without explanation, Big Macintosh commits suicide. At the funeral, Applejack starts hearing a scratching sound that only she can hear. And then, as the day goes by, more and more of Applejack's life starts to change...
