Melismata Maiden first attempted to take over the world by disrupting the peace during the Glorious Revolution of 1688. When that failed, she retired to her private island in the South Pacific where she practices her plan for harsh, dictatorial rule by mercilessly subjugating and exploiting the local cargo cult and punishes all "evildoers" with protracted exposure to instrumental elevator Muzak. Recently, she was the recipient of a Henry Kissinger Award for Best Debut Exploitation of an Indigenous Peoples. She'd like to thank the academy. In her spare time, the maiden translates poems out of old English, reads scholarly books, and listens to the music of Fairport Covention, Richard Thompson, Pentangle, Annwyn and many others. She writes fanfiction as a form of relaxation (along with her daily massage and seventeen hours sleep).
