At the age of eight, Marinette welcomes bad luck in the form of a little black cat. At the age of 17, her luck is completely depleted. An old master out for blood, a new boy that she can't stand, a guardian just trying to do his job, and a little boy with no cure for a deadly disease all come together to make Marinette's life harder than it ever has been before.

Marinette has successfully handed off the mantel of being Ladybug. Fed up with how he is being treated, Adrien tosses away the chance to be a hero. As luck would have it, the bluenette is given the opportunity to play hero again, if it is indeed good luck to be wearing black instead of red. Master Fu is in quite a tizzy as he tries to right the imbalances made. Rated T for violence

Although Nick and Judy make an effective team, trying to balance the demands of work while still maintaining a social life is a challenge of all its own—especially in the face of social pressures brought by living in a city still recovering from pred/prey tensions.
