Author has written 3 stories for Teen Titans, Chronicles of Narnia, and Wolverine & the X-Men. Update info: Planning to start a new multi-chapter fic. Details in the Possible future fics section. Probably won't be around for quite a while, but I am working on stuff.(7/11/2010) About me: Name: simplegrl007 or just Simplegrl Gender: Notice penname. I don't like to give out any other information online. I'm old enough to know better than to give out that info and young enough to still be scared of what could happen should the wrong person get that info. Other stuff. I like happy endings. I like romance, fluff, and humor. I also like a good amount of action/adventure. My favorite parts of stories tend to be witty banter between some of the characters. I also enjoy sci-fi when I can find it well written (I am a Stargate fan, although I haven't really gotten into the fandoms). I like Romy (Remy/Rogue) and Bitty (Bobby/Kitty). I like Elizabeth and Darcy. I like reading long chapters and fics that can keep me interested. Eventually I hope to write my own original fiction, but so far I have had the same problems with it as I have had with only published my chapter fic here: I leave it alone for months and years on end and come back to find what I initially wrote terrible. At that point I tend to get so discouraged or distracted by something else, that I just give up. I hope that as I grow as a person and a writer, my writing style will eventually become something that I can look back on and be proud of. Areas I currently browse/read. Pride and Prejudice, Young Justice, X-Men: The Movie, Wolverine and the X-Men, X-Men: Evolution (usually only glancing through it), I may or may not look through sections I used to frequent based on my mood and how bored I am. Pet peeves: Incest. I find it disturbing. It's as simple as that. Also, it is usually out of character and the ones I have glanced at also seem to be badly written. Stories based on movies and not books and posted in the books section. If it's a minor part of the story I don't mind all that much but basing the entire story off it is really annoying. (For example: if you are writing about Narnia and start LWW off with a bomb scene, it's very obvious that you have not read the books because there was no such scene in LWW.) Slash. I do not support slash. Enough said. One or two can be funny if written for the humor, but I try not to scar myself. Most times it's badly written too. Grammar mistakes. If I make any please point them out, I try to proofread to catch ones Word may not, and I'm not perfect so there may be some. I will more often than not point out if I see a common amount of grammar/spelling mistakes in a fic. I will probably also recommend a beta. Homonyms that people don't use correctly. There, their, they're. Threw, through. Its, it's. Then, than. College, collage. Your, you're. To, two, too. Ones that don't even sound alike: definitely, defiantly. (Sound it out!) There are more, just too tired to remember them. Technically this qualifies as grammar, but it's a big problem, even among the best writers. Misspelling character names. There really isn't a reason to misspell a name other than plain carelessness. I mean, the majority are in the character lists, and it isn't that hard to look around and see how names are spelled. This goes doubly if you're writing in the book section. My current stories: (incomplete stories) It's Been a Long Time. [Still DISCONTINUED] But I'm kinda tempted to pick it back up again... I haven't gone back to reread it or work on it, but I don't like that I just left it. And I never was happy with the fact that I didn't finish it. However, right now I have things that are higher on my list of priorities and they don't leave much time for writing. I also don't want to give any false hope by picking it back up and then just leaving it again. Don't expect anything, but be aware that I haven't completely forgotten it. (3/10/11) [DISCONTINUED.] It's not one of my priorities. I realize I left it unfinished, and I'm deeply sorry to anyone who was reading it, but I started writing it without a clear knowledge of where I wanted to go with it. So when my inspiration dried up, I basically had nothing left with which to work. I basically wrote it for the fluffy moments and without a plot or big picture in mind. I had gotten various inspirations along the way, but had no way to get there from where I left off. (06/03/10) I started to reread IBALT and was very disappointed. Especially with the beginning. It's like the fics I will read a little of but be unable to continue. I, as a person and a writer, have matured since beginning this, and I find it very difficult to continue when the basis of the entire story is so... immature and intolerable to me. For now it's on HIATUS. It may come back if/when I rewrite what I have so far. (6/03/08) Summary: Robin's past comes back to haunt him in the form of a female superhero by the name of Sparrow. Possible future fics: Untitled. I have an inkling for a currently untitled X-Men: The Movie fic. I want to write something where Rogue doesn't cling to her relationship with Bobby when she knows it's over and where Bobby doesn't cheat on Rogue. And of course, Remy. He didn't get enough attention in the movies... It would be Romy, but I need an actual plot, like, big picture, bad guy to fight and all that. I have ideas, and they're beginning to get close to forming a story. We'll see where it goes and if I ever get around to finishing/posting it. I will not post any until I get a firm idea of plot and a good portion (if not all) of it written. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it before my inspiration runs out. I don't want to leave another unfinished multi-chaptered fic. (7/11/2010) Other. Some unfinished bunnies for Bobby/Kitty in Wolverine and the X-Men. Pretty much all oneshots. Maybe some Romy also though... Quotes ...that people often say about Him: "I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God." That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic--on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg--or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art...It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. Thanks for reading, Simplegrl007 |
