Euros is evil. Mycroft is the British government and grey at best, morally-wise. Sherlock needs a moral compass. Add Jim (always add Jim, he makes everything better), and the (inexistent) consequences of Victor's death...when all the children are like this, what does it tell us about the parents? When Sherlock gets devastating news that his father has passed away, he gets the sudden urge and desire to be home, at any cost. He gets pulled over for speeding through a red light by a young Sergeant Gregory Lestrade who stays until someone can come get him.
