"The Guardian of Light" is a story born from a desire to explore Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" from a male's perspective. The protagonist, Luca Swan, shares similarities with Bella Swan however has become his own character. Edward Cullen's personality, history, and physical features were also slightly modified in order to accommodate a new and original story line. Since these characters will share a homosexual but modest relationship it negates the traditional Bella and Edward scenario in order to create a whole new dimension for original twists, and turns.

The story develops its own plot's, and characters Meyer created though never elaborated on will be given omnipresence – an example of this is "Uncle Luca" who was briefly mentioned in Meyer's "Illustrative Guide" of her saga. The Cullen family will remain mostly the same, as will many other well known support character's that will show their faces. However, as stated in the aforementioned their might be alterations in their timelines.

Personally, I do not enjoy stories that "throw back" Twilight by merely inserting a young 17 year old male. I will strife to make Luca something refreshing, special, and yet somewhat familiar. I have done my best by creating the plot for "The Guardian of Light", trying to stay true to Meyer, and using character's she created but never fully utilized.

I understand that the topic of homosexuality is fragile but trust that this story will not feature homoerotic scenes in every single chapter. I would like Edward and Luca's relationship to have a concrete base built on love, affection, struggle, and mind.
