Story Updates:

20.12.2007 (Yay for european date formatting): Chapter two of "As far as your view carries" reached 2700 words. I still want to write some more, I guess I need at least 1500 extra words to get as far as I want. I dropped some more trivia in there as well, and I introduced a new character. Another character will appear sometime later as well, along with a few hints on already present ones, so prepare to guess the chara again. Oh, and athenarules14: guess again your ideas were both wrong :D.

25.12.2007: I'm not sure if I can make it today, as I want symbiotic to take a look at chapter three before I set it up. So don't be too upset if I post it tomorrow. But the trivia for chapter two is up now.

10.01.2008: University just hit me in the face, and exams are only a month away. Chapter four is in the making, but it may take some time as I don't have as much spare time as I had before christmas so go easy on me. Also found two leftover typos in chapter three, but those won't get corrected until I upload chapter four.

I've started writing Fanfiction quite some time ago and have my first stories posted. For those interested I give a short summary here:

As far as the view carries (AU warning, if Naruto wearing flight goggles isn't evidence enough for you that Naruto could fly a plane, stay out)

It was supposed to be a easy mission: Go in, deliver the scrolls and come back. But no, he had to run into some heavy weather. When he is rescued he finds out that his mission is more vital than it seemed. Will he make the delivery in time?

Hina troubles (Possible mary sue waring, see story description at the bottom of my profile)

An old friend visits Konoha, with him a few suprising characters. Why do we see Hinata twice, and why are the older Konoha ninjas acting so weird? Also while Hanabi and Hinata start a new training the Genin group is supposed to find a few missing civilians.

Current: Chapter thirteen, not on Hiatus but unreleased until I find a Beta, since this story badly needs one (amongst other things :P)

Author's rants: This place will be used to tell you my general opinion about Fanfiction. Read it or go straight to the next part.

Naruto fics:

Pairings: I've read quite a few stories with various pairings, even if I mostly stayed with the "common" ones. If the pairing is belivable, and the strory around it is good, I can live with a lot of the "free interpretation" of the Naruto story I see around here, but some stuff is just... no.

Naru/Sasu: Whoever came up with that one. Makes me shiver. I don't have anything against gays, and I don't have anything about belivable gay stories as fanfiction, even if I don't really read them, but the idea of putting the two together simply makes no sense whatsoever. In my opinion at least. I find it interesting how many gay pairings are invented with Naruto charactes anyway, sometimes I get the feeling half the male Konoha population, along with a good third of the female population, is in some way homosexual...

My favorite Naruto/someone couple would propably be Naru/Hina, for obvious reasons. Not many quality stories out for it, though. There is DameWren's Two Halves, which was a gourgeus piece of Art (though the sequel is left unfinished now... If anyone still has it or can contact her about it, I'd like to get it as reference material, as some of her ideas will be found in Hina troubles, in some way or form), as well as all the stories from dave-d. Foxie-sama did a great job with For the love of my Friends (Go read it's in my favorites) and Kloset Author did a great job with Hinata's Story.

Stories: Not complaining about AU, as long as it stays true to the characters. I don't like 'Naruto getting superpowers saving the world and everyone gets awestruck and loves him for eternity' Fics. Naruto always had a hard time and that will most likely stay the same for all times. He can live with that, I can live with that. He doesn't want to be pitied, and thus I rarely support any of these fics.

Kyuubi: Is an asshole. A male asshole. Some fics characterize him as an Ero-kitsune. Kinda like the idea, but Kyuubi turning into a good guy? Unlikely. I don't like "Kyuubi says he's innocent and in turn helps Naruto to get badass powers" kinda fics. If he agrees to help Naruto should have to do some hard work to convince him. No matter how he ended up in Naruto, he's the bad guy, he won't do the 180 just cause... Or so I see it.

Mary-Sues: I don't like or dislike these, as long as they have a good story. OCs often are in some way or another mary sues, at least those important to the plot. The only stuff I don't like are "Look at me I'm the new main character I'll kick Akatsukis ass for Naruto since he can't do it himself" or "Hey I ended in character xy's body now I'll show all the Naruto girls/boys/whatever my lovah-lovah skills since char xy won't do it by himself (sinister chuckle)" ones, for obvious reasons. Hina Troubles is a little bit mary-sueish I guess, as a few of the OCs were thought up to resemble a few of my old classmates. I'll try to stay true to my principles though (meaning make it a quality fic at least... hopefully).

As far as your view carries:

1. The title is crap. I know it, you probably think so as well. If you have a better title, drop it in a PM, or in a review. If I get a few good ones I'll decide for one, or I'll make a poll about it... time will tell.

2. Story inspired by Fire paved skies, I like the theming, but the story itself was rather rushed at times, and I didn't like the way it evolved in some places. I still read all the way through, and now I'll try if I can do this kind of theme in my own way. Chapter one will be up shortly.

Chapter one:

The Zero, FW 44 and Zeppelin concepts: Before WWII there were a few American and German concepts for Zeppelins (airships) to have several biplane fighters aboard that could start and land from a hook underneath the airship. The americans had one (I think they even had two) of these airships, but scrapped it for various reasons. The most popular airship using this system would be the (fictional) LZ 138 known from the movie "Indiana Jones and the last crusade". The Zero is this very same airship (a little modified though, as in my story the Zero is an actual combat-equipped airship, and not meant for passenger transportion like the one shown in the movie). The FW44 was not the original plane used in the movie, or in any Zeppelin project, but the plane's characteristics fit quite good with the concept so I'll go with it.

Radar: You know MASH? No? Then go off and watch, you've missed a part of television history. Radar, the nice little-brotherish company secretary will feature in this fic as what he's best at, the little stagehand guy nobody notices but everyone needs. I'll try to make him as close to the original character from the series, although I may have some trouble with the translations from german to english (As I never watched the english original, unfortunately). A few other characters may feature if they can support the story. This will not be a crossover, just see it as me being too lazy to invent my own OCs :P.

Hondo airfield: Hondo is the Seargant giving (or better being ripped off by) Klinger the badly needed generator in the MASH episode "Goodbye, Radar (part two)" where he makes his last appearance. Could this be a hint at something? Well, maybe, if I feel like it.

Tanis airfield: Taken from Homeworld 2 this is the place where the journey started, so to speak. It'll feature more often in this story, can't have the Forest Country seventh battalion pack up for nothing, can I?

Forest Country seventh battalion: You already guessed that one, didn't you? If not, have a look at this: Naruto is part of team seven -- Naruto is member of the seventh battalion. Yay more trivia.

Chapter two:

Jimmy Bondi: Of course it's a James Bond reference, but this is also an independant fictional character that appeared in a german 1970's family movie series (starting with the movie "Ein Käfer geht auf's Ganze"). While the movies didn't stand out for quality or great story they were still amusing to watch, especially the second and third part of the series. It's a spinoff of the old disney Herbie movies, with a heavily modified VW Bug named DuDu as the main role, along with the previosly mentioned Jimmy Bondi who uses DuDu's many gadgets to win races or catch dangerous criminals (in a quite trashy fashion).

Adam's Ribs: Will get it's very own chapter sometime later. It's another MASH reference, of course. In the original episode Hawkeye wants to get some ribs from this local since in the Mess they didn't serve anything but fish or liver for weeks, and he does everything to reach his goal.

The motorcycle: That's something I got from "Indiana Jones and the last Crusade" (again), but unlike the BMW motorcycle from the movie the one used for my fic is an "Ural 750" (inspired by the one my neighbor is driving).

Sergeant Zelmo Zale: Another MASH character that is likely to appear again in later chapters. His ID-number is fictional, but if you look at the keypad of your phone you might have an idea where I got it from.

I hope I can do this in every chapter. Me likey hiding stuff for you guys.

Hina Troubles:

1. Side-stories: Yeah, I have some of those already, due to my way of writing stories. Side stories either consist of stuff that didn't make it into the fics (due to horrible storywriting or serious breaches with the storyline) or go a little in-depth with the new characters appearing (their background or stuff, what's not needed in the main stroyline but interesting to know).

2. Character bios: Info about main Characters in my fic.

Alex:

Height: 1,80m

Age: 18

Hair-/Eye-color: brown/brown

It's not much known about his past, other than the fact that most of the older Ninja seem to know him and that he is not from 'this plane' or how he put it. Seems to be unable to use all his powers, but that does not make him weak. He seems to be as irresponsible as Kakashi is, but he knows what he is doing.

Ryu:

Height: 1,38m

Age: 11

Hair-/Eye-color: black/green

He's from a clan in the east that has been wiped out years ago. Not much known about them, and he seems to have no memories left of it. He survived the harsh conditions in between civil wars and ruling criminal families, but when Alex found him he was almost starving. He is strong enough to keep up with mast Jounin, but he gets hot headed easy and only calms down after he vented off his anger on something/someone. Recieved training from Alex before they reached Konoha.

Hina:

Height: 1,48m

Age: 13

Hair-/Eye-color: Blue/White

Being blind at 'birth' she was forced to develop her own way to see. Unlike her "twin sister" she likes to state her mind and is annoyed easily. Other than that there is nothing known about her yet. Has been training under the tutelage of Alex.

Maika:

Height: 1,75m

Age: 16

Hair-/Eye-color: blond/grey-blue

A rather silent person at first glance she can get rather talkative afte she warms up. Her naive attitude seems faked at times and she has a rather high IQ. Very caring and always the nice and helpful. Not being a fighter she was dragged along with Alex, the reason being unknown.

Vicky:

Height: 1,78m

Age: 18

Hair-/Eye-color: black/dark brown

She is a nice person... to the one she likes. Those don't seem to be many though. Is a little stuck up at times, and can get harsh when irritated or threatened. On the other hand she can be very protective when it comes to her friends (especially Maika, who is treatened by her like a little sister). She was dragged along as well, but seemed to adapt faster than Maika

3. The first version of my fic is five years old by now and written on a college block (12 pages, nearly unreadable by now). The first two-and-a-half chapters have been rewritten three and a half years ago, then Exams came and they started collecting dust. But now I'm ready to continue this story again. I hope some of you can enjoy it as much as I did when I wrote it. Hina Troubles is a little bit mary-sueish, I guess, as a few of the OCs were thought up to resemble a few of my old classmates. I'll try to stay true to my principles though (meaning make it a quality fic at least... hopefully)

3. Storry taken down due to me not liking the first three chapters. Will be back up when I got someone to Beta it.

Random Things:

I've recently realized that 'Two Halves' written by damewren has been deleted from ff.net. A shame, really. There will be some stuff in my fic inspired by her writings, including a short visit from Sora and a little 'room cleaning'. Hope I get to this point soon, I made a vow at least to finish one Fanfiction story.
