Hi~

I figured I'd better update this page with all my insanity since I've never done it.

Let's see, the basics: My name is Caroline and I live in Chicago. I discovered fanfic through the fantastic CW show Supernatural (all my work is from there) and have learned many things by participating. I'm in my 30's and I taught a creative writing class at a local fine art college in the past, but currently am working on my fiction writing. Through my 6+ years of teaching experience, I've learned that the best thing you can do for someone is to give them feedback, and I try to do that as often as I can and encourage you to do the same.

I have also learned a great deal from the personal relationships I have garnered through this site. There have been a lot of ups and downs for me. I am not a confident writer, but I can honestly say that I am so much better than when I first started because I've been open to conversation and criticism. I have been blessed to be around an amazing group of writers (please check out my favorites) who are honest with me and truly help me make my stories better. I have also met some amazing reviewers who inspire me to do better. Just because you don't write doesn't mean that your opinion isn't worth its weight in gold.

My "library of works" of this fandom deserves a bit of cataloguing now I suppose, so I've put the stories in order of their first appearance on the board. I have a work in progress that I promise to get back to - Holy Cross - as soon as possible. I have finally completed Cahokia and have taken it down from the site. I am working on my own version of it based on this amazing area. I will finish the stories I've started but promise little else. I want to concentrate on personal stories and leave the fanfic to those better suited than I to tell it.

I just wanted to say thank you again to all the wonderful writers on this site. I could never have done this without your encouragement and love.

Body of Work:

The Powers that Be - complete

My first fanfic, completely unbeta’d. Written with lightning speed that pains me now to see. This was also my first introduction into what a ‘Mary Sue’ was, even though that really wasn’t my intention at all. Set after ‘Nightmare.’

Summary: Sam dreams of a little boy who calls to him for assistance. They find Johnny and his Aunt Jana in Peculiar, Missouri and discover that the boy is part of a deeper plot to see where Sam’s destiny truly lies. Lots of limp Sam and plenty of limp Dean too, but more angsty on his side.

Cahokia – COMPLETE!! Removed from site.

My weird attempt at a sort-of follow up to TPTB. The research bug truly bit when I started this unending tale. I’ve even gone so far as to visit Cahokia to see that all the things I wrote about have plot holes in them. Well, the internet can only tell you so much.

Summary: Sam has a vision that calls the boys outside of St. Louis to the Cahokian Native American burial grounds. They have a car accident that lands Sam in the hospital and leaves Dean missing with amnesia. Sam pals up with the conspiracy-prone paramedic who saved him in search of his brother. When they finally met up with Dean again, something is off and the boys learn that reincarnation can be a bitch.

Hooray for Hollywood – complete

I SO loved the characters of Ed and Harry from ‘Hell House’ that I needed to give them a little more. I am a HUGE geek, so it only made sense for me to take Ed and Harry on their road trip to Hollywood to meet their producer.

Summary: What happens when two geeks hit the road in search of the American dream? The adventures of Ed and Harry from their departure in the trailer park with their false information of the Hollywood producer and a dead fish to boot.

Take my Breath Away - complete

Tag to ‘Something Wicked.’

Summary: Sam’s had a hard life, and he’s had plenty of angst and torture. It only makes sense that when he sees his life flash before his eyes, these moments would spring back up. Just really an excuse to play with Sam angst and guilt.

Holy Cross - WIP

I really wanted to explore this forum with different kinds of writing styles. This tale had me wondering if I could write ‘sex’ scenes with the characters convincingly. Plus I found this really cool bad guy and it made me change my whole idea for the fic. Gratuitous sex-like scenes. SAM/OFC. Will eventually lead to a crack-like fic called “That which Becomes a Part of You” if I can ever get my a in gear. Set sometime in season two.

Summary: A strange connection occurs when Sam is drawn in a hypnotic way towards a woman who wants to be Sam’s everything, and she’ll stop at nothing to get him. Even if it means getting rid of big brother Dean. Whumpage of both brothers abound!

And Now – complete

A very personal episode for me that ended up being a catharsis of sorts. Set immediately after ‘Everybody Loves a Clown.’

Summary: Both boys are hurting after the death of their father, each finding their own way to deal. Dean is angry and lost with the knowledge of their father’s sacrifice and secret. Sam is just lost, needing an emotional tie to his family – not getting it from Dean. How will they find each other again? Lots of angst, and a little whumpage.

Mother’s Love – complete

Theory Fic / Tag to ‘Children Shouldn’t Play with Dean Things,’ and beyond. Really came from the ‘connection’ that Dean and Sam seemed to have in ‘Usual Suspects.’ I wanted to figure out why that was, so I started a theory fic of why Sam was 'chosen,' and why he has this deep connection to Dean – and vice versa. It seemed best to take it from CSPWDT and go from there. It’s in real time with the episodes, but I’ve just filled in the missing scenes with angst abound. I think my theory works!

Summary: After the visit to Mary’s grave, Sam learns more about that fateful night back in 1983. Sam discovers his mother was tricked by the demon to make a sacrifice she never would have agreed to had she known the consequences.

Entry – complete

Pre-tag to ‘Born Under a Bad Sign.’ I was left wondering how Sam was possessed. I was so in love with Jared’s performance in this episode, I wanted to extend it to the moment when he was finally taken by Meg. Also spoilers for ‘Houses of the Holy.’

Summary: Needing that final assurance from Father Reynolds after discovering that Father Gregory was, in fact, just a man, Sam tries to find solace in the church before the brothers hit the road again. What he finds instead is a whole different way to pray.

Turning the Tables – complete

For Jared Padalecki (because he reads all these stories, right?) I started this puppy after Jared’s interview on the CW site about wanting to see what Sam could really do in a fight. This is my ‘kick-ass Sammy’ story.

Summary: After a hunt gone wrong, Dean gets knocked about and Sam is left trying to get him the care he needs. With no money, credit cards or insurance, Sam has no choice but to try his hand at the scams that fit Dean like a glove.

Blood Truth - Complete

AU tag to Fresh Blood. I wanted to know what would happen if Gordon attacked Sam instead of Dean and sucked his blood. I'm nervous and excited for the moment when both boys reveal their secrets - Sam about the demon blood and their mother, Dean, the conversation with the YED in the graveyard and knowing about Sam being the 'leader' of the army from Hell.

Summary: After being separated from Dean in the factory, Sam mulls over all the secrets he's kept from his brother since his time at Cold Oak. Will he be able to save his brother from learning the truth about what runs in his veins?

Rebirth - Complete

My insane brain on crack. Based on a very weird dream that, after researching general facts, worked into Greek mythology really well.

Summary: Sam is desperately looking for a way out of the deal and pushes Bobby to tell him about an old warehouse that holds items that should not be touched (think John's storeroom). As they explore the area, a strange trunk beckons Sam to it, forcing him to release the entity inside. And no good can come of that! Sort of a tag to Red Sky at Morning, but really by accident
