I'm an English major and a writer with a seriously addictive guilty pleasure: well-written fanfiction. I do mean to write some of my own someday, but until work lets up, that probably won't happen. I've been lurking in the Harry Potter fandom since I was... way too young to be reading some of the things the characters were getting up to. I tend to get my fanfics through livejournal communities and author recs, but Mass Effect 2 has brought me back to FF and I've been pleasantly surprised by enough of the writing in that fandom to through together this profile business, in case anyone is interested.

Ever since I knew what shipping was, I've been a slasher, though I do enjoy good het and don't tend to enjoy the 'now EVERYONE is GAY!' stories. I'm pretty flexible with shipping, though, and will read almost anything that comes recommended by authors I trust.

Political/Pundit RPF - Anything "IC" enough and interesting/funny about Colbert, Rahm Emmanuel, Obama, and/or Jon Stewart

I also enjoy True Blood, V, LOST, Lord of the Rings, and others, but tend not to read things in those fandoms (unless someone gives me a good reason to).

This little introduction is getting quite long, so I'll wrap things up. I don't get to talk about fannish stuff IRL (no one knows I read fanfiction... it would totally confuse everyone I know), so I'm going a little overboard here, I guess. I'm trying to review more, lurk less. And, er, yeah. That's about it.
