Written for the got-exchange community on Livejournal. The prompt was: Arya/Gendry. 1930's AU. Based off of Simon & Garfunkel's (and Mumford and Sons' remake of) "The Boxer." Gendry makes his way up north to New York just after - or during - the Great Depression, making his living as a boxer. He meets Arya, a wealthy upper-class girl, at one of his matches.

Arya had just escaped King's Landing following Ned Stark's arrest for fraud against Stag-O-Metal. She is on her way to Winterfell when her bike breaks down and she finds herself wandering into a car shop where she meets Gendry. Together they travel to Winterfell. Modern take on the story.

Modern AU - Gendry and Jon are best friends and after Jon's favourite little sister Arya Stark returns after 5 years abroad in Braavos, Gendry can't help but notice how much she has grown.

Arya returns to Westeros after leaving the order of Faceless men to find that the Dragon Queen has declared Sansa Queen in the North and Sansa is engaged to be married. Everybody knew how temperamental she is. And everyone knew how often Gendry and Arya bickered. But maybe Arya isn't the only one who's capable of getting mad.
