What's with the lack of updates this week?
Due to being in a significant amount of pain the past few days, I have not been able to concentrate on Teeth and Tail. I'll hopefully have the pain issue solved sometime soon but I probably won't be able to update. I'm sorry, I'm not happy about this either.

Teeth and Tail

Posted Summary: As much as Professor Riddle wanted to dismiss her, something about her insistent raised hand made him call on her every time. Drabble series.

Main characters: Tom Riddle Jr. and Hermione Granger

Rating: K plus (Will never be M rated)

Genre: General

Extended Summary: A what-if AU story. Hermione is in her 6th year at Hogwarts when the new DADA professor, Tom Riddle, arrives. He's good looking, charming, and even Ron enjoys his class. So what is it about him that bothers her so much?

Each drabble is 150 words or less.

Update Schedule: I think I'll aim for twice a week on Monday and Thursday. This could change at any time. There will still be two updates a week.

Research and Reference Materials:

Just like in the books, I plan for discrimination to be one of the major themes of this drabble series. I don't think this will go into too dark of a direction, that isn't what I ever intended, but I'm interested in what direction the Wizarding World may have taken given my "What If?" scenario.

1. A Classroom Divided

This is an excellent documentary that I highly recommend people to watch. The language may offend some, this documentary was made the day after Martin Luther King Jr.'s murder in 1968, and language that was used then is heavily censored and frowned upon now.

2. The Stanford Prison Experiment/Zimbardo Experiment

This...if you have ever taken a psychology course then you must have heard of this. The experiment was led by Philip Zimbardo. Basically, it details how easily people can fit into roles and how drastically these roles can change their behavior and sense of morality. This experiment is incredibly disturbing and is considered highly unethical. Given that, I will not link videos here.

I hope this summary will do instead. (This link contains some pictures and a few short videos but none of it showing the parts that made me not want to link to a video.)

3. Milgram's Experiment

This is another famous experiment looking into what human obedience to authority. The link is to a documentary video of the original Milgram's experiment. There shouldn't be anything there that would disturb anyone. I think.

January 16, 2013 Notes

I'm going to give multiple drabbles a chapter a try starting on the 21st. (That's the next time for the regular update.)

In case you are curious, here's a little insight on why I'm doing a drabble series instead of the good ol' novel chapter format.

1. I have a terrible habit of using words like 'simply', 'just', 'almost', etc. It's annoying as-...well it's just annoying. (See? I did it just then. And there I did it again. ARGH.) Drabbles have a lovely word limit which will hopefully break this little habit of mine.

2. There's something awfully intimidating about writing long chapters especially when the main characters are Tom Riddle and Hermione Granger. I want to keep them as in-character as possible while a) being aware of changes caused by my 'what-if' and b) not assuming Tom Riddle was born an irredeemable violent psychopath.

3. It's easier to keep up with in my head.

February 14, 2013 Notes

Updates have officially changed from Wednesday to Thursday. Do to life reasons, there will be no update today. Expect either an update this weekend or a double update on Monday.
