Celestia had kept the presence of a dimensional rift very near Ponyville a secret until Twilight Sparkle became an alicorn and princess. The Six Mane Ponies are now tasked with entering the "Human World," but Trixie catches them just before they leave and follows them through the rift. Supposedly, this will take them to Camelot County where they are to attend school as a cover.
