Update 13th June 2010

Over a year since I last updated.

I don't read Harry Potter fanfiction anymore.

While Harry Potter will always have a place in my heart (I'm still sewing a robe to wear to the DH premiere, for instance) I've moved on. To what? Doctor Who. While not having books (or.. well, they do have book but...) it's great having a story each week and all the stories are so multi-layered and so complex I can't help but love them.

I may occasionally read some HP stuff but not much.

(No, I will probably not read Doctor Who fanfiction. Why? I've only started watching it recently, though I may start after watching the complete series 1-4 which someone just got and said I could borrow, though that will take years, as well as if I read too recent fanfictions future episodes will be spoilt for me as in New Zealand we're a fair bit behind..)

Thank you everyone for the great stories here on fanfiction and to those whom I regularly read and reviewed, I'm sorry you're now missing a reviewer! It's not your fault, I swear, you all have brilliant stories.. the Harry Potter world just doesn't interest me as much any more. I will always know obscure details, I'll always be a fan but no longer to the point that I'm going to stay up all night to read fanfiction.

Argh! Next gen Potters are not pureblood! Harry is halfblood! Sorry, that's just pissing me off..
So anyway, check out my beta'd and given-ideas-for stories Sevvikins and Hufflepuff's Ears on Princess Ducky's accounts. Complete.. well, not crack I guess, as they make sensish, but weird.
I'm finally getting around to deleting my stories! And I deleted those random quizzes... but my page is still long. I think I should also delete my Stereotyping thing. Off to do that.

Update: 18th March 2009:
Wowee, I'm having fun. Sick and all. And getting accused of staying off school just to not hand in my English homework (well, I have to admit, it did play a role in not coming... but not a major role!)
Basically taking the time to update as I have nothing to do, and I can't update on my iPod. Also, iluvwriting has a really cool thing on their page about stereotyping, and I want to steal it. (Hope you don't mind, iluvwriting)
So I'm cleaning out my profile. Mainly the old jokes that aren't even funny anymore are going, and I'm replacing them xD also writing more about me and why I review and write.
Also, planning to work more on my current story after I've done everything else.

Update: Valentines Day 2009: Can't update often, as updating on iTouch=not very good.
Anyway, as just mentioned I now have an iPod Touch! As a result I'm often reading on it at night. If my reviews are short, or have spelling/grammar errors that's why. It also doesn't really make me want to review, so I really only review these days if I love the story xD or I see definate ways to try and improve it. I try and give constructive criticism when I can, but if anyone thinks I was too harsh to their story, I'm sorry.
I hate chtspk and people who use no caps (unless in a profile page/image to make a point, I am guilty of that on my Bebo) so if you PM me then please use normal English, thanks.

Please note, I used to be called Cap'n Fish but I am, once again, on a even-more-than-normal chocolate phase. And I did not really think that Cap'n Fish was all that funny anymore. Then again, chaucolai isn't really either.. oh well. It's all my other acc's names lol (bebo, howrse etc)

I read basically only Harry Potter, while I want to read some other ones either they don't have any good stories, they don't even have a section or I haven't finished the series so I can't read yet, unless I want spoilers.. which isn't fun. Uh uh.

Hi there, I'm on here for fun and reading Harry Potter (mainly at night.) I read almost every night and during the day too on my iPod Touch fanfics, unfortunately this often means I'm too tired/can't be bothered fiddling with iTouch to write a reveiw, so basically if I write a review, feel happy, I loved your story : other stories I liked, but not quite loved, goes into my favorites.

Reading

Most of the stories I'll read are either 1) from Amy's C2, where we put anything weird and funny in (I'm staff of it, and I recommend you check it out, some of the stuff is quite hilarious) 2) stuff written by my friends, if only to make random inside jokes during class about it, 3) anything from the authors I start to regard as favorites (having a cleanout of those soon, the ones I know will still be there are ClassySam, siriusly klutzy and iluvwriting, but there will probably be more) or 4) my filtered stories. These are all Harry Potter, 100,000 words+. Don't often like slash/femslash, find it a bit grisly, but sometimes will read it. I do read M rated, often these are the best as they have more thought written into them then the other ratings, but I'm making a generalizaiton here.

Writing

I suck at writing FanFic, mine never seem to work, they're too fast, too slow or never get finished etc. etc. It doesn't help that I am a mega-critic and that amplifies about 10x when looking over my own work. I am currently writing out a planned Lily/James story, but due to my.. disorganized writing tendancies I'm not going to post that until it's almost finished. It's called "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" - like the Script's song by the same name. In reality, it's my interpretation of what it could be about, the meeting of everyone and how things affected James and Lily etc. Personally, I think it sucks, so I might try to rerewrite it, but.. mm.

List of Petty Hates on FanFics

-People spelling "Charlie" Charley. Just doesn't seem right!
-Hogsmeade is Hogsmeade. Not Hogsmead. See, if it's Hogsmeade, then it's Hogs-meed. Like, with a long ee. Like in bee. If it's Hogsmead, it's like Hogs-med. Like the drink and... uh, what's something ending in a sharp ed? Like, headed. Ed.
-People not using commas in the right place, or having a whole sentance without any commas. Which I understand is probably most sentances, but if you read it, and you pause, you need to stick a comma here. Like, I don't say "like-I-don't-say" I would say "Like, I-don't-say". But I would probably say "for-example" not "like" if I was saying it out loud. I'm so picky. Honestly.
-People who use no caps. ARGH!
-Reveiw whores. I don't mean like adding in a character death to try and get reviews (that's called a story twist, genius) but people at the bottom of the story going "Please please please please pleeeeease review!" But those people would probably be more like "plzplzplzplzplzplzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz review!"
-Which brings me to my next one. Chat/textspeak in writing. Don't think me an old granny (I am a teenager, so if you dare think that, I will.. uhh.. behead you!) and I can understand it perfectly, but it's annoying. Very much. I can understand when texting (shudders remembering old phone's keypad.. then relaxes remembering BlackBerry) using it, but on a computer we have a nice qwerty keyboard. I manage to do it on all three of my devices (laptop computers in general, iTouch and BlackBerry, they all have qwerty) without resorting to chatspeak (though I must admit one of the main reasons I don't on iTouch is because of the fact that the stupid SpellCheck would auto-correct it to words that don't make sense..) so don't! It hurts the eye!
-Using numbers 4 words. See? Did you like that? I didn't.
-Maiden name mixups. Marecia Chang cannot be Cho Changs mother, unless Cho was born out of wedlock and took the mothers name... and for a small-time character, it's much easier just to go along with the flow. Make Marecia Goldi and make her have a love/hate relationship with Jung Chang or something. Or just.. don't bother.
-The next-gen Potters are not pureblood. Harry is a halfblood, remember? Even if you have them shipped Ginny/Harry, the pureblooded families want pure-pureblood, as in fully pure family trees, not 1/8 muggle.
