I am a retired technical writer who absolutely delighted in Walt Disney's Zorro television series. And no matter what other hero occupied my imagination while growing up, he always seemed to have Guy Williams face (and use a sword).

In the course of my technical career I sometimes wondered if I would be able to write fiction, that is, something more interesting than How to Change Out a Defective Circuit Pack. Around May of 2016 I came across a collector's set of two Zorro comic book series. Somehow that stirred a lot of memories, and I started prowling around the internet. I had no idea that Guy Williams had such a fan base. I began discovering Zorro stories written by others, although many of them were written five to ten years ago. After a lot of thought I screwed up my courage and decided to try writing one myself. My stories take place in a slightly alternate universe.

I did not start out to write a series. I just had a story I wanted to tell. But after I finished The Marriage of Three Hearts I discovered that I had more to say and wanted more for certain characters (Bernardo, for example). I plan to take Diego and his family twenty or so years into the future. Beyond that, who knows? I might find some isolated, i.e., out-of-the-series Zorro adventures to drop into the timeline. But I make no promises.
