Well a little about me: I am a nineteen year old college student and an avid reader. Some of the series I have read include the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and His Dark Material series by Philip Pullman. I am a newbie to fanfic writing and I am looking forward to gaining the opinion of reviewers on this site.

My first project the beginning of which should be posted within the next month is called the Harry Potter-Snape series. It is an AU which will be used to explore not only the themes and events we saw in the books, but will also focus on characters and details which were barely considered in the real series. The initial division from canon is that Harry will be raised by one Severus Tobias Snape a childhood friend of his mother Lily Potter nee Evans who used an element of ancient blood magic to ensure Dumbledore couldn't send Harry to her wretched sister and her husband.

My Harry will be very different to the Harry we saw in the books. Raised by Snape who chooses to focus on the fact he is his mothers child rather than his fathers child. He does not suffer the abuse he recieved at the Dursleys, but neither is he the spoiled little prince. Many of the characters such as Snape who didn't know of his home situation in Canon he would be. As a result of this difference in childhood my Harry will be both intelligent and observant. His magical prowess will also exheed that of canon though he won't be all powerful. This is to make it more realistic for him to stand any chance against powerful dark wizards such as Voldemort.

Some warnings you may wish to take account of before reading the story: Harry will not be a Gryffindor and will definitely be more cautious than he is in character. I will not tell you what house he will be in, but I will say its either Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Another important fact that I feel it is fair for me to state from the start is Harry will be Bi-Sexual. However I have no plans for writing explicit sexual content and this won't become an issue until we have reached at least the third book of the series. The series will also include Character Deaths, Graphic Violence and some of the characters will be on a different side than they were in canon. I'm not saying who I've decided to change though...

The Harry Potter-Snape Series

Lily Potter held dormant seer abilities which activated the days approaching her death on October 31st 1981. Seeing the type of childhood Harry will have to suffer if Dumbledore sends him to the Dursley as her visions perdict. She partakes in an ancient blood and magic adoption ritual which ensures Harry must remain with Snape for his early childhood. Raised in the muggle world but fully aware of the existence of magic Harry James Potter-Snape must train himself and prepare for the wizarding war which is sure to erupt during his Hogwarts years.
