Author has written 31 stories for Phantom of the Opera. Hi, I'm Deborah aka AngelCeleste85, I am 19 years old and living in California, USA. I love both reading and writing, though I only write in English and not in music. (That's not saying I don't leave "notes" here and there...) I'm looking at starting school again soon for massage therapy training. Pardon the frequent references to Greek mythology - I hope I explain them as I go, but PTO lends itself so well to comparisions to the great myth cycles of that culture that I just can't resist playing that angle. Reader beware, my work tends to be angsty. I don't do cheerful, and I don't do Mary Sue! Everything posted so far is based on "Phantom of the Opera" and usually combines the ALW musical with Leroux's and Kay's books to some extent or another. I'm trying to learn more about the Ken Hill and YK versions, simply for a broader palette to work from. :waves a blank paper around: Artistic license, got it? (Meaning, if I say someone's wearing fleece slippers in the 1800's, she's wearing fleece slippers.) I work heavily from existing pop music to provides a running theme (those are songfics, and marked as such). I also greatly enjoy writing 100-word drabbles - the idea of taking an instant from one of the versions of the Phantom's story and getting inside his head, analyzing what his possible thoughts might be... Well, to a double Scorpio it's irresistable! The *point* of those, I might add, is to analyze one specific moment in time for one character: the 100-word cutoff forces me to pick and choose my words very carefully. I am a starving author - I must have feedback to survive! Feed me, feed me! Speaking of which, I don't really care if you flame me, but fair warning... All flames will be used to light the fire under my @$$ and get me to write more phics that are against your liking. :-P My longest work to date is "Lachesis' Weavings" but I also have several others in progress as well including 3 songfics with writer's block. I will try to finish the stories that I've started before I post anything else. Regarding "After the Opera," since I did get a flame on that one:that is why it's *here* for *constructive* review. For what it's worth, I notice Raoul uses contractions in ALW, also - and I can certainly re-read Leroux and see what his speech patterns are like there. However, this is a FIRST-COPY ROUGH DRAFT, and as such errors like this are not a huge deal. If it was a final manuscript I'd be tossed out on my ear, I know. Please, cut some slack on a ROUGH DRAFT. Above all, please read, enjoy, and review. Feel free to drop me an email at any time, by the way! AngelCeleste85 (aka Deborah) |
