The war started during 1820s and ended in 1830s and Greece, the cradle of European civilization, was now a free country and could pursue whatever path its people desired. But what desire does this new nation have?

In 1453 the Ottoman Empire conquered the city of Constantinople and dealt the death blow to once mighty Byzantine Empire, the last true remnant of Imperial Rome. Greece fell under the sway of the Ottoman rule, despite the Italian mercenaries who tried to defend the Imperial city even when apathy poisoned its inhabitants. Ancient Greece and Rome were no more.
