Greetings, everyone! Well, to give some information about myself; every author needs an "about the author", don't they? Writing is one of my most prominent hobbies, and like many here I hope to turn it into a career at some point, but for right now, I find that fanfiction is a great way to practice. It has a number of benefits, in my view:

1. Fanfiction is not done for monetary purposes, so you aren't under as much pressure as with career-based writing.

2. The reviews others provide are a good source of insight on your writing abilities; how you can improve, what you're already doing well, and just how your writing is generally received.

3. Fanfiction is fun; writing it allows you to exercise your knowledge and understanding of the book/film/TV show/comic/etc. that you're writing about, and often when you read the fics done by others, you'll find you can expand your knowledge and understanding of the topic in ways you might not have otherwise.

It's come to my attention that people don't review what they read on this site nearly enough, and I've learned that some writers get very anxious over this issue. Therefore, I try to get myself to review what I read - although I'll admit, sometimes it's difficult to think of what to say, especially after reading a story/chapter for the first time. I do post a review once I've finally decided, of course; it's that little "even one step can make a difference" formula that never seems to fail! :)

I like to experiment with different genres, but the ones I gravitate towards the most are drama, angst, romance, and comedy. The films I've written my little ideas about so far include "The Great Mouse Detective", "Tangled", "Kung Fu Panda", "Rango", "Bambi", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", "Monsters Inc./Monsters University", "The Lorax (2012)", and "Trolls (2016)". 2015 marked the first year that I delved into participation in the fandom of a television show; the lucky numero uno being "Steven Universe". I have a lot of other films/programs I really enjoy, and hope to one day get around to writing things about, but there are just too many to list here.

On GMD: I first became acquainted with this film in early 2011, after reading about it out of curiosity on Disney Wiki. I fell in love with the franchise straight away, of course, and it was for this franchise that my creative juices, in terms of fanfiction, really started flowing and actually came to fruition for the first time. My favourite characters are Olivia Flaversham and Fidget, who also make up my OTP above all OTPs in GMD. Most fans of the film like to consider Olivia and Basil of Baker Street as a couple, but I actually believe she and Fidget are made for each other - the impression hit me when I first read about them and it hasn't left since. As for Basil, I'm fine with him as a loner, but if he's to be paired I'm very fond of matching him with Miss Kitty, myself. As for Dr. Dawson? I just adore him with Mrs. Judson; they just look like they're a pair, don't they?

On Tangled: Another film which caught my intrigue around the time of GMD. Mother Gothel is my favourite character here - I think she's absolutely cool; the epitome of womanhood in my mind (well, in one of its incarnations, at least)! As for interest in pairings, well, I'm seldom one to muck with romantic canon, so I mostly favour Rapunzel and Flynn/Eugene with each other, the King and Queen with each other, and all that. On the more experimental side, I alternate between shipping GothelxStabbington Brothers (either or both), and GothelxShorty (can you help but wonder what might've come from that flirting scene if Gothel was just a little less obsessed with following Rapunzel?).

On KFP: Got into the first film almost right away, and the same goes for the second film. I know there's a lot more to the franchise than just that, particularly the TV series, but I've not gotten around to exploring the entirety of the franchise yet, hence why I'm not heavy on writing about it at present. I like to know as extensive an amount of information on the characters and events in a franchise as I can before I start composing my own "what ifs", after all - even if you plan to deter from any canonical details for whatever reason, it's more comfortable knowing that what you're writing is effectively an AU. Anyway, my favourite characters in the films are Masters Viper and Monkey, Mr. Ping, and the Soothsayer (who, I must note, I entirely ship with Master Shifu, as I indicated in "A Heart Shaped Box of Silks"), so I imagine once I get going on KFP, I'll be focusing on them a lot.

On Rango: Became besmitten with this one the summer following its release. When it comes to its coverage in fanfiction here, however, I am sorry to see that Rattlesnake Jake seems to have coiled around far too much of the spotlight. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a darn cool villain - or antihero, as I read someone perceived him as - but I can't believe how much the rest of the myriad of colourful characters from that film has been largely left neglected. I'm glad that at least Beans and Rango have had a snap of attention (Beans is my favourite character, and she and Rango, aside from being canon, make such a good couple!), but even then, there's been a lot less of that than you'd think there would be.

On Bambi: I grew up on the first film, and I saw the second film for the first time not long after its release. I got reacquainted with the franchise after years of separation back in the Spring of 2013, and somehow this time around I became entranced by the character Ronno's dark, masculine beauty. You might not think that at first when you look at how and what I write about him, but I can't help it that compromising situations work so well with him!

On HoND: After almost two decades of unfulfilled interest in doing so, I finally got into this franchise over the Summer of 2013, and I still blink at how rapidly I delved into this one! Then, with the awesome characters and scenarios involved, I guess it isn't too surprising. Like a lot of fans I clicked with the character Clopin right away, and behind him Esmeralda is a close second favourite, but on the whole I feel an attachment to nearly all the characters, major, minor and background alike. The only real exceptions are Judge Frollo and Sarousch - and to be fair, on Frollo's part it is only in terms of where I would stand with the characters on an interactive scale; I just don't agree with Frollo's ideas concerning justice at all. In terms of evaluating his character as a character in a story, however, I admire him very much; he is definitely one of the most well-developed of the Disney villains, and the more you analyze his character the more you realize this. Sarousch, however... I don't know if this is the clearest way to define it, but in terms of character appeal he sort of falls into the "uncanny valley", in my opinion. To clarify a little better, he is given traits which work well on some comic villains, of course, but somehow the way he presents these traits just falls that amount too short, and results in otherwise engaging traits actually turning the viewer off the character.

Where the other characters are concerned, however, I simply adore them. Again, I like canon the best, so for pairings I mostly ship EsmeraldaxPhoebus, QuasimodoxMadellaine, and HugoxDjali. I must say, though, there's something to be said for the experimental potential in this franchise - reading some of the slash fics that have been done here has actually gotten me really interested in that sort of stuff! Authors like GhostlyMayhem have gotten me especially hooked on the slash pairing of Phoebus and Clopin, though the thought of Clopin with any of the male characters (aside from a certain circus leader) is a remarkably delicious one. I'm intrigued why, not counting crossovers, there's so little femslash done, however. In a femslash AU, I could certainly see Esmeralda and Madellaine stirring things up - the two are both radiant beauties, with stark character contrasts which could really hold potential in a blend.

On MI/MU: Was first acquainted with MI when I was a kid - the fact that I was a kid when it was released might have something to do with it - but I didn't get fully immersed into it until the prequel came about. One of the things about this franchise that impresses me the most is how much thought and development has been put into every aspect of it; even the background characters, many of whom are given no dialogue, have nonetheless been supplied with details such as names and that. The best part is how this enables one to become emotionally attached to them, even if they are effectively to the audience as a stranger is to one out in the street.

Where the central characters are concerned, I've always loved Mike and Sulley - Sulley's a bit hard to write, I must admit - and one just can't look at Boo without thinking she's absolutely adorable, even though I find her reactions to the other characters a bit hard to understand sometimes. I used to think Randall was kind of weird, but I like him now that I understand him more - in fact, for some reason, though he works great in slash (particularly with Sulley or with Johnny Worthington), I find myself shipping him with Sonia Lewis, my favourite girl from the HSS sorority in MU.

On The Lorax: In my formative years, the works of Dr. Seuss were a great influence, and this has continued on in large extent. I've enjoyed the film adaptations of his works that I've seen to-date, but this one has held my particular attention for a while now. Beyond the original message of "The Lorax", just looking at the storyline as related in this film provokes the mind to ponder. There are so many turns and points at which, had something been even slightly altered, then the whole outcome would change beyond recognition, and as is probably clear from looking at my list of fanfics down below, "what if" concepts have always been a favourite theme.

On top of that, I love the characters as imagined in this film - I don't think there's a single character I can honestly say I dislike, whether I agree with their actions/motivations or not. Like a very guessable percentage of the film's fanbase a look at a good screenshot of the Once-ler can make my day, and some of the Lorax's dialogue is sheer comic genius, but my favourite characters to focus on are the animals of the Truffula forest, especially Pipsqueak. I'm actually surprised that they are not more often explored in fanfiction as full-out characters, rather than cute, cuddly animals who have very sour luck as the story progresses, because the film actually develops them quite well as the former.

ON SU: It was actually while reading a fanfic from a fandom I've yet to participate in, but have been interested in since it started (until I actually participate in it, I would prefer not to identify it), that I came to learn of the TV show "Steven Universe". Curious, I read up on it soon after, but it still took a bit of time for me to become interested enough to start viewing it. Once I began, however, it did not take long for me to develop into a staunch fan of the series - it's like the character Garnet says, "Love takes time". And here I am, at the point where I'm quoting the characters!

Any fan could tell you any number of the qualities that make "Steven Universe" such a great and compelling program; all I can really do in that matter is lend my own affirmation. This is another program in which, to date, I can't really say that I genuinely dislike any of the characters, although there are some, major and minor alike, that I have trouble understanding fully. I never would have thought it when I first observed the character, but although he's one of the ones I (unsurprisingly) am bemused by, I've actually come to quite like the character Onion, but my all-time favourites would have to be, in ascending order, Jasper, Greg Universe, Garnet, Steven Universe and Connie Maheswaran equally, and Amethyst and Peridot equally. No surprise that I completely ship my two all-time favourites with each other, and I draw giddy glee from the fact that I did before the episode "Too Far" provided implicit fuel for such practice! Makes one feel like, after a fashion, they're in tune with things. Whether or not, it's fun!
