As you can tell I'm not much of a writer, more of a reader. I have written stories before elsewhere, will I ever tackle one again and post it here? Maybe. All you need to know is that I'm pretty much your average college student. I'm primarily here to read Harry Potter fanfiction, mostly Harry/Hermione fanfics since I ship them.

Opinion on Harry Potter Ships

In canon, I had always shipped Harry and Hermione hence they are my favorite fanon ship. I find them most realistic in canon in the long run I guess. I can see them being together in the long run, that one day, when they are older they will realize that they have fallen in love with each other. Though them getting together would probable take alot longer than Ron and Hermione, I still find it highly plausible. Hermione always stuck by Harry, she was his constant throughout the story, they trusted each other so much. It seems to make so much more sense to me if Harry fell in love with Hermione. Maybe not when he's in his adolescent years, going by canon, but when they grew older. They were best friends, I guess for me it would've been beautiful to see such a strong friendship evolve into a romantic love. I can see under the correct circumstances when they are in their adulthood, based on the bond developed through canon, they could turn into lovers. This is the one of the reasons why I tend to read Post Hogwarts fanfics more. Also because I find it's rare for one to find a long lasting partner by the age of 17/18 and I'd prefer to have Harry and Hermione fall in love with each other when they are in adulthood. Which brings up the fact that one of the arguments against Harry and Hermione that annoys me the most is how there is no sign that they are attracted to each other in the books hence they could never be attracted to each other. I mean Harry and Hermione are just 17/18, do non H/Hr shippers really find it that unrealistic for the two of them to be attracted to each other one day. Though I do know this argument can apply to any shipping really, only if we exclude the epilogue of course. Hence it is totally plausible that it could've gone that way and it should've in my opinion.

I respect canon and JK Rowling. Overall it is her story and she did what she wanted with it. The world she created was beyond amazing. Though the epilogue was truly unbearable, after writing seven books, couldn't she expand on it more instead of just giving us a little snippet about the OBHWF. What about the other characters that she built on? It's the big conclusion and that's what we got...at least there is fanfiction. I can respect her pairing choices even though I don't have to agree with them. I guess I kinda would've preferred that they ended up separately in canon (if H/Hr had to stay in a platonic relationship), but still stuck together as the trio in the end. Truly romance isn't Rowling's forte and I'd totally rather have her excluded it in the end. The fact that they end up with their high school sweethearts just seems really unrealistic to me, Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny. I mean really? One pairing is alright but both? The only reason I can bear the whole OBHWF it is because it's still a children's book (my little sister loves the idea and I can't help but roll my eyes...). Ron and Hermione is understandable, I can bear them in the books and in the movies but I don't think I can ever read a fanfic on them ending as endgame. I cringe at Harry and Ginny though, especially in the movies. I mean he forgot that Ginny was possessed by Voldemort...I mean seriously. I'd so much rather have Harry end up alone, with a new character, or even Luna, if not Hermione than Ginny. I always felt he was more in love with the idea of being a normal guy and having a pretty girlfriend than he was in love with Ginny.

Okay I think I'm done with talking about canon. So as far as fanon goes along, I enjoy Ron and Luna, as well as Draco and Ginny. I guess I find that R/L would make a sweet, quirky couple and it would just be interesting to see how Draco and Ginny would interact together in a relationship. And another reason is probable because this allows Harry and Hermione to be together. It's hard to deny that I'm quite H/Hr biased.

Favorite Harry/Hermione Fanfics

Most memorable fanfics I read, the ones I always find myself rereading.

1. The Paradigm of Uncertainties Series by Lori

Of course this has to be mentioned. I mean it is deemed to be the Harry/Hermione fanfic of all Harry/Hermione fanfics. I think that definitely says something. It deserves it too. I had such a thrill reading this one. The plot is really intriguing, the suspense and romance is written really well. She even has new villians and creates another world, new spells and concepts! The descriptions are great and characterizations are consistent within the story. I'm not sure which is my favorite part though. I loved the first one but the second one blew me away. During that part, Harry and Hermione undergoes the most uncomfortable stage in their relationship and you can literally feel it as you read it. I'm still working through the third one, it just kinda sad that she never completed it though. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth the read, even if you aren't a H/Hr fan. However since the writer wrote this a few years before Rowling completed HP, this story is certainly AU.

2. Accidents by Rinawen

This one was a really fun one to read. I loved reading on what was happening in Harry and Hermione's mind in this one. Pure guilty pleasure really. A Harry/Hermione fan definitely shouldn't miss out on this one. It's a smut fic with substance, this is my favorite smut fic of H/Hr so far.

3. Come Together by Granger

I loved the Trio in this one.

4. A Slip of Tongue by Cheering Charm and Vicarious L

This one made me totally crack up. It's basically the whole Freaky Friday switch-a-roo where a little slip of tongue from Malfoy caused Harry, Hermione, Draco and Ginny to swap bodies. The situations they come across are hilarious. Ron saw "Harry" and "Draco" comparing something in the bathroom which totally freaked him out. That totally killed me right there. There's more, you got to read to find out!

5. When Life Goes On by Plumgirl

What I loved about this fic was that it made Harry be Hermione's constant. In the books, we see how Hermione is Harry's constant, always sticking by his side. Well in here, Hermione's been in a coma for the past three years after the defeat of Voldemort and when she wakes up Harry is still by her side. The relationship between Harry and Hermione is just really sweet.

6. Love Lost. Love Found. by Harrys Mistress

This actually follows cannon, even the darn epilogue. Harry and Hermione loose Ginny and Ron in an accident and are now raising their kids together.

7. The Librarian by InMyJazzShoes

I don't know why but I always seem drawn to fics where Harry and Hermione are back at Hogwarts as Professors. Hermione had left Ron and Harry sometime after the defeat of Voldemort. They cross paths again after Hermione is hired as the librarian at Hogwarts and Harry as the new DADA professor.

8. The Fiance by thesiriuswriter

Hermione's mom tells her family that Hermione is engaged even though she really isn't. Harry and Hermione have to act as a couple during the family gathering to convince Hermione's Aunt and cousin that they are engaged. Pure guilty pleasure really. It's a sweet and fun read.

Favorite Harry/Hermione One Shot

1. Bedside Conversations by Chloe.at.Eleusis

This is definitely my favorite H/HR one shot of all time. I've read this one so many times it's not even funny. It's so sweet and adorable. This is the story I can share with people and tell them this is why I ship Harry and Hermione together. This is why they made sense to me. I love how she had McGonagall help Harry understand. I loved every single word in this piece, that how much I love it. I love how she explained the Harry and Hermione's bond. It's an amazing one-shot. Another reason why I loved this one was because it was written by a non H/HR fan, it isn't her usual ship so that was pretty awesome. You definitely have to check this one-shot out!
