All For Us — a Thor story

Avery Lohman

•BACKGROUND:

Avery is the daughter of Frances and Gabriella Lohman, and was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

Avery Rose Lohman had an ordinary life of an average thirteen year old girl in Baltimore, Maryland, when she began suffering increasingly intense headaches. The headaches were a result of Avery’s mutant power. Avery possesses telekinesis and psi-leech energy manipulation.

Professor Charles Xavier located Avery and set to recruit her for his school, and possibly a new member of his X-Men. The Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club also learned about Avery and went to invite her to the Massachusetts Academy.

Avery’s parents allowed her to join Prof. Xavier’s School of Gifted Youngsters. She became the newest member of the X-Men and spent a great deal of time training. During her first training session in the Danger Room, Avery was able to make it through. Scott Summers christened Avery with her first codename, Parasite.

•PERSONALITY:

Avery is very empathetic and understanding for the most part, but she can also come across as manipulative and ruthless. She loves her friends and family dearly and treats everyone she meets with kindness. However, if she thinks her life, or the lives of loved ones, are in danger, then she’ll react accordingly.

•APPEARANCE:

Avery is a slim young woman of average height with long dark brown hair and eyebrow-length fringe that frame her brown eyes.

•POWERS and ABILITIES:

Psi-Leech Energy Manipulation: Avery is a psionic lamprey who specializes in the absorption of minds and souls coupled with puppeteering rudderless cadavers. This power is tactile in nature and need only be utilized via touch.

—Soul Absorption: Avery can absorb the spiritual essence of living beings on contact, enslaving their souls and leaving their bodies conscious yet subject to her every command. The souls are stored into an unknown limbo.

—Mass Mind Control: Avery is granted total control over the beings whose souls she had absorbed.

—Telepathy: Avery is an able bodied psychic with impressive power.

—Telepathic Connection: Avery is able to use one of her mind-slaves as a channel to a being’s thoughts, connecting to them and listening to what the target who is not connected is saying. The breaking of the connection can shut down the channel-body.

—Illusions: Avery is able to generate realistic illusions.

—Insect Control: Ability to control and command vast armies of flies and locusts.

—Psi-Shield: Avery is protected from psi-scanning.

Telekinesis: Projection of psychokinetic energy enables her to levitate objects, manipulate or propel them however she wishes, lift herself and move through the air to simulate flight, stimulate individual molecules to create heat, generate concussive force as blasts or bursts, and create protective shields.

•WEAKNESSES:

If the connection to any of her bodies are broken, they will shut down.

Her psi-leech ability requires physical contact — skin-to-skin contact — and she must absorb the soul entirely for the body to be under her control.

Even though the souls are stored in an unknown limbo, she still has access to them. If she were to access the souls, they’d overwhelm her.

Initially, Avery had no control over her powers. She couldn’t touch anyone without something happening. After going to Xavier’s School, she gained enough control to be able to touch others without any negative effects.

Her telekinesis and insect control, however, are connected to certain emotions. If she gets overwhelmed or distressed, she’ll begin losing control.

•ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Avery is the youngest of four daughters.

She has a strained relationship with her parents. They were unhappy with having four daughters, wanting to have at least one son. After Avery’s birth, they attempted to raise her similar to a boy. As Avery got older, she began acting out, which strained her relationship with her parents. When her mutant powers began manifesting, that was the final straw. Avery was sent to Xavier’s School, but her parents rarely kept in contact with her and she rarely went home during school breaks. She maintained a healthy relationship with her older sisters.

While “Parasite” was Avery’s first codename, her official name is “Pestilence”.

Avery uses her control over flies and locusts to her advantage. She can use the insects as a tracker and to gain information. She can also use the insects to invade cities, towns, etc. to wreak havoc.

Avery’s mother, Gabriella, is of Sioux, African-American, Scottish, and Dutch origin. Her father, Frances, is of half Lithuanian-Jewish, one quarter Swiss, and one quarter Hungarian-Jewish descent.

She and her siblings were raised Jewish.
