perplexing okay, I know this may seem odd - but doesn't it sound fantastic?

-I CHANGED IT! YAY-
-okay, and now I can't be bothered-

Random Quote of the Moment:

"O amor é uma coisa. A vida é outra. A realidade pode matar. O amor é mais bonito que a vida. A vida que se lixe.
(Love is one thing. Life is another. Reality can kill. Love Is more beautiful than life. Screw life)
~Miguel Esteves Cardoso - I found this quote on someone's profile and I absolutely love it!! Hehe.

HERE IS A CHANCE FOR ME TO SHAMELESSLY PROMOTE MYSELF. Heh.
Sorry, I just wanted to quickly say, that I've started making translation videos of songs. I've only put up one so far ('Naturaleza Muerta' by Mecano - it's in Spanish and SO pretty) and I'd really appreciate some feedback. The YouTube profile is NeptuneTopaz... so if you wouldn't mind taking a look... :-D

Anyway! Advert over. Back to the profile.

Okay, I have a HUGE tendency to ramble, so this profile is mostly nonsense and probably ridiculously long.

Just so you know. :-)

Okay, let's get this out of the way: Hi. I'm Neptune-Topaz. I love musicals a lot. At the moment, I'm adoring Notre Dame de Paris, sort of Les Miserables, and I have a sort of background, underlying, ongoing obsession with Wicked. I have a feeling Notre Dame de Paris is also going to stay with me a long, looong time, seeing as I absolutely love it. It's a shame I can't understand French or Italian... but it's helping me learn!

Also, randomly, I love languages - I know that may sound a little odd, but I adore the variety of language, how different things sound, how words can change so much, accents (pronunciation)... I love it all. Yes, it may be a little odd, but it's true. Hehe. I learn German and Spanish in school, but I'd love to learn Italian, because I adore Italian. And French is good too. And so are pretty much all languages. Hehe.

I write for Doctor Who and Wicked currently, as they're both very fanfic-y things. I might branch out later... I'm thinking of crossovers, 'cause they're fun. :-D I'm writing a Doctor Who/Wicked one now which has been going on for months on end, as I seem to have come to a stop with it, but I said to astrum-faith I'd finish it, so I'll just have to keep trying!

I read much more than I write. I'll read Wicked, Doctor Who, Torchwood, RENT, and generally anything that I feel like reading. It's fun to explore. :-) I even ventured into the Hunchback of Notre Dame section once, in the Books section- except it was a terrifying place. But, if you're prepared to trudge through the evil ones, there are some real gems in there! Emeralds! Hah... oh, no... I'm so ashamed.

I tend to lean towards humour fics, as often I can't really take fanfic that seriously. Sorry everyone. :-) Unless the characters involved have a personality you can really delve into, I think of fanfic as a chance to make fun of and just generally abuse characters that aren't usually yours to abuse. :-D Oh, the beauty of fanfic! The joys of abusing characters that are normally out of your reach!

... -cough- . Yes.

But I do write and read serious things as well- like I say, if I can really understand/try-to-understand or are just really intrigued by a character. Or two. Or three!

Actually... okay, romance is great.

Yes, I am a hopeless romantic. I admit it! I'm like Christian in Moulin Rouge... hah... okay, actually, I'm really not. In the slightest. At all. But I watched that earlier today, so it's in my brain. And I love that film. :-)

Good Pairs (in my view, anyway!)

I'm generally rather canon, but sometimes I prefer the more unusual options! Thing is, if you support canon, you're never disappointed. On the other hand, if you're not canon, you get those little happy moments when watching a programme or reading a book, when you see romance in a pair. It doesn't matter if they only say one word. You still manage to find something impossibly adorable and romantic.

Wicked: Fiyeraba (I'm sorry, but it's so adorable...)

Doctor Who/Torchwood: Ten/anyoneaslongashe'shappy
Jack/Gwen

RENT: Generally canon, but I also like Joanne/Mark (no idea why... but I do)

Crossover Pairs I Really Think Could Work: Galinda/Jack (Wicked/Doctor Who) Come on! It just works!

Random Other Pairs: Jack/Elizabeth in POTC - I really don't like POTC that much. I mean, I think it's funny, but not really that good. But when they introduced this pair in the 2nd one, I immediately loved the idea. I don't even like the characters much! The idea just seemed so fitting, though. Not sure why.

In Les Miserables, the only happy couple is hideously annoying... kill them. MUAHAHAH! Anyway. Fantine should have found someone! Hehe.

When it comes to NDdP... hmm... you can't have a happy couple, can you, 'cause that sort of ruins the story...
Well, that's depressing.
-cry-

Books

I love books. -manic smile-

Nice People on Fanfic Who I Know

astrum-faith : She writes (has written) for Wicked, Doctor Who, Power Rangers, and Queen of Swords. She's also a beta reader, so if you want one, ask her! We have tried to learn Italian together, and probably the longest phrase we know (in Italian) is "This building will blow up!" Woohoo!

Tess-Darkstone: Doctor Who, Robin Hood and Batman. She has an unhealthy obsession with the Joker. :-D

TheDarklingChild: She's my accent buddy! Wheee! :-) She writes for The Thief Lord and Doctor Who. She stole my Venice

Fantastic Quotations

Yay.

"Police!"
"Where did you put the money?"
"I left it on the bus..."
~Don't ask. It's an ancient tradition.

"That girl looks like you!"
"What?"
"That girl with the pink bag looks like you! A short version of you!
-looks at me-
Well... shorter."
~Tess-Darkstone being cruel about my height. -cry-

"Everything in the world is confusing and everything that confuses me scares me. Therefore I spend my life scared."
~I think it started on MSN... I say it a lot now. Hehe.

"Don't die, it's bad for your health!"
~This used to be my catchphrase, and I've started saying it again now.

-my friends teasing me about my height, I start jumping up and down on the floor-
"AGGH! I'm now going to take my anger out on the floor!"
"Why?"
"Because it doesn't rise up when I walk on it!"
"Or, do you mean it rises up when we walk on it?"
"Exactly! I am actually really tall, and everyone else is short, but the floor hates me!"
"Why does the floor hate you?"
"Well... it's just jealous of me."
"Why?"
"It's just jealous of my general amazingness."
"Right... so you're short because the floor's jealous of you?"
"Exactly!"
~ Hehe. It is! Honest!

-sort of continuing the one above, but a bit later-

"Hey, I've just thought- , _ and _ are all shorter than you, so the floor must be jealous of them as well!"
-pause-
"... nah. They're just short."
~ Hah. astrum-faith tried to find a flaw in my theory. BUT THE FLOOR IS JEALOUS OF ME!!

"I love my wife, but I love my husband better."
~... don't ask. My friend is maaad.

"The foam! Foamy foam! Foam foam foamy foam!"
~Me and a friend went hyper in a foamy box. :-D

This one is not totally accurate, but hey. :-)
In a physics lesson, we are discussing the structure of the Earth.

teacher- "So, what is the outer core made of?"
-various people- "Nickel?" "Iron?" "Rock?" etc. -
astrum-faith (quietly to me)- "Fluffy bunny land!"
me- "What?"
a-s - "It's fluffy bunny land! With all the bunnies!"
me- "Wouldn't they get a bit tossed about in all the earthquakes?"
a-s - "Well, they do, but it's okay, 'cause there are cushions everywhere."
me- "Right..."
a-s -"And they have been shaken about a bit before, but they're okay."
random other person- "What are you talking about?"
a-s - "Bunnies in the centre of the Earth."
r.o.p- "They'd be hot cross bunnies!" -haha-
me- -groan-

-later on-

a-s - "See, so we could be completely wrong about what the inside of the Earth's like. It could just be a huge empty space inside."
me- "You still want it to be fluffy bunny land, don't you."
a-s - "...yes. But the fluffy bunnies!"

"I have a problem."
"Yes?"
"I have a history test, and I need to learn stuff about WWII. That's fine, but... thing is, there was a general in France called General Petain. I keep on accidentally calling him General Putain."
"And?"
"Putain is French for prostitute."
"Ah."
~Yes, this is a true story. Yes, he did come up briefly in the test. No, I didn't call him General Putain. Though now I will always remember his name... hehe...
(oh, and I think my translation is right, but this is not from a French education as I have practically none- someone correct me if I'm wrong! :-) )

(when reading my birthday card written to astrum-faith) friend: "What does all this mean?"
me - (in head) Oh no...
friend - "What does 'era scritto' mean?"
other friend - "And 'questo... questo... questo what?"
me - grin
~Okay, that was a rough transcript of what happens when I'm let loose, with a pen, on a card for astrum-faith. Hehe.

"I have the intent to attempt to put up a tent and I'll pay rent on my tent 'cause I'll invent and implement within my tent an air vent."
~Me and astrum-faith came up with this in a maths lesson. :-)

"You pringle-eating prostitute."
~Yes, my friend called me this... -cry-

"Apple chapstick! Apple chapstick! Let me smell it!! Give me the apple chapstick... give it to me... give it..."

~Me and my friend obsessing over my other friend's apple chapstick - it smells so gooood! Now we each have one of our own! I use mine all the time. :-D

"Let's start a linear revolution! I do not want your filthy lines! We are changing them whether you like them or not! Vive la révolution!"
~I had a day where I said this over and over again with different revolutions, e.g. a circular revolution, a beam revolution... This was the first one, due to being slightly out of line when lining up. :-)

"Three revolutions! THREE!"
~In Russia! Really! THREE revolutions!!
